2300 Tasting Notes
The first time I had this, I loved it. I tasted a pleasant mixture of coffee and almond. The almond definitely leans in a desserty way, basically like amaretto. The second time, the amaretto aspect was too strong, and I ended up with too much of an alcohol flavor remaining. It was still drinkable, but that sharp alcohol tang was unwelcome. The resteep still tasted good though. Thanks tea-and-cats! I wish I had more bags of this so I could deliver a more certain verdict.
This definitely tastes lower quality than the usual EGs I drink, but it’s okay. I taste the bergamot and a nondescript black tea. At the end of the sip, I get a sort of strange tang that I wish weren’t there. I sadly didn’t taste any lavender here. I don’t think I’d like to drink this one again.
This tastes lightly biscuity. The flavor is so surprising. I only have this advent sample, but I’d consider buying more. It genuinely tastes like baked goods. I wish I’d tried this warm before refrigerating it because I think it might be best warm with milk. I’m still enjoying it sweetened cold. The resteep tastes almost the same. It’s sort of like an orange cake or something. Very intriguing.
This has a strong roasted flavor, though not too far in that direction so that it tastes almost burnt. I’ve discovered I’m not super into plain hojicha, and this one tastes like many others – not the worst, just somewhere in the middle. There’s just not enough going on in this tea for me. Thanks for sending the sample though, Adagio!
Despite all the various ingredients, I taste mostly cardamom and clove. It’s not really hearty or intricate enough. It’s also not spicy. I wish there were more going on here, as there’s almost an emptiness below those main two spices. It’s fine with milk, but nothing new.
I can definitely taste the caramel here, but the black base isn’t very good. Once it cools, the caramel flavor becomes quite strong and tasty at first, but then it settles into a sort of weird fake tang. It’s still decent with milk, and it genuinely tastes like salted caramel. Thanks tea-and-cats!
