15 Tasting Notes

Golden Spring from Adagio Teas

Not as intense as I am used to drinking…perhaps I understeeped? The scent is amazing and the leaves are gorgeous.

Gen Mai Cha from SerendipiTea

Love the size of the leaves and presentation of rice. Good and roasty. Second infusion just about as lovely as the first. Would be fantastic with some sushi…if only my local sushi joint served this tea and not the bagged stuff!!!

Jasmine from Whittard of Chelsea

A bit more astringent than I expected (esp. since the water I steeped it in was extra cool to avoid burning it). The blossoms in the tea are large and pretty. Will try again later to see if maybe I made a steeping error, but so far not blown away.

Matcha Kaze from Den's Tea

I’ve enjoyed this straight-up in my cup, as well as mixed with milk and a bit of chocolate powder. It’s a solid Match for daily home use.

Medium LiSan Oolong from Fang Gourmet Tea

A little red on the tips of the leaves. Almost a bit roasty & sweet in scent, which really appeals to me. Fruity in flavor (this tea is also known as Pear Mountain Oolong). I’m diggin’ this :)

Dong Ding Oolong from ching ching CHA House of Tea

Any oolong which reveals two leaves and a bud leaves me in awe. Strikes me as a mix between ti kuan yin and pouchong profiles. Quite lovely.

Darjeeling Mountian Tea from San-cha classic

Another Darjeeling from my friend’s trip to India. This one was acquired at a duty free shop – not bad at all :)

Nepalese Oolong from TChing

I enjoy the first infusion most for this oolong. Kind of darjeeling-ish in nature (I’m still trying to find a better word for what the profile is that I’m tasting)

Pure Darjeeling Tea from Golden Tips

About at the end of my stash. Was sent from friends in India. Very tasty for a day-to-day darjeeling tea.

Jasmine #12 from Adagio Teas

Although a little pricey, it goes a long way. I always have this tea on hand, and often make it for guests. This was my “gateway tea” – there was no turning back to supermarket teas after this one.

Fukamushi-Sencha Yame from Den's Tea

So much going on in this cup. More complex than I expected. One of my favorites.

Fukamushi Sencha Special from Den's Tea

Guricha from Den's Tea
