A friend has been telling me about this place for ages, so we finally made plans to go today. I’m so glad she took me, I would never have ffound it on my own as it is tucked away in a very inconspicuous side street. I loved the experience from start to finish. I had the second flush darjeeling, which was really lovely. My friend opted for the earl grey, which was divine. Each tea came to the table with a timer, so the tea was perfectly steeped (and then decanted into another teapot). The staff were very knowledgable and extremely friendly to top it all off.

I was in Harrogate recently for a brass band contest, and having heard a lot of good things about Bettys (plus the fact it was about 200 yards from the contest venue), I decided to go. They have a good selection of teas, both loose and bagged, which are also available to be bought in the little bakery-type shop in there. I had Pussimbing Estate Darjeeling and China Rose Petal and I was impressed by the quality of both, especially the darjeeling, which I bought 100 grams of. They also have a large menu and serve really good food. The staff were attentive and friendly to top it all off.

Bio

My love of tea began when I walked into a shop one day and they were giving out samples of jasmine silver needles. It was absolutely gorgeous, and I have been addicted to tea ever since. Jasmine silver needles remains my favourite tea to this day.

I think my favourite types are white teas and oolongs, though I will pretty much drink anything.

Aside from tea, I’m into Star Wars, music, furniture, food, Lilly Dache hats and vintage clothing.
