Tazo Chai Tea Concentrate from Tazo
67

Not bad! I get a little artificial aftertaste, but for an at-home mix, it does just fine.

Brown Rice Tea from Dynasty
84

Finished up this box; its not gourmet but I like it fine; a cup of comfort.

Russian Country from Harney & Sons
96

Still liking this “Lapsang – Lite” very much!

Cream Earl Grey from Capital Tea Ltd.
91

Strong bergamot balanced nicely with a creamy bouquet, very nice when Earl Grey is what you crave!

Chocolate Strawberry Temptation from Talbott Teas
61

Playing catch up — I get so wrapped up in the moment that I forget to log the experience. I have brewed this up several times and find it to be “OK” — that is pretty good from me, since I am not a huge fan of anything strawberry. It is a nice one to share with friends.

Queen Catherine from Harney & Sons

Playing catch up. Sometimes I spend so much time indulging in lovely teas that I forget to log the moment…

Coconut Oolong from The Spice and Tea Exchange
17

I am not warming up to this tea. Maybe it is user error, steeping too long? Not fragrant, mostly a bitter tonic. Does it require sweetener or cream? Didn’t like it enough to experiment. Maybe I will, on a day when I have time to play around with it.

Constant Comment from Bigelow
84

Made a pitcher full to serve iced with dinner tonight, can’t wait!

Enchanted Forest: Sweet Almond from The Seasoned Home
94

Is it wrong to brew the just for the bouquet?

So I saved it and iced it later…waste not, want not!

Enchanted Forest: Sweet Almond from The Seasoned Home

Found this interesting blend during a recent vacation. Visually it is pretty and the aroma is sweet and intoxicating so I bought a big bag…

On the advice of the salesperson, I steeped it for less time than I would have left a typical green. I was glad that I did this, as I learned later that too much time makes it very bitter. But a short steep was fragrant, floral, sweet, and nutty. Very almond-y, as I like it.

This is a versatile tea and is equally delicious hot or iced. A little sugar is a modest remedy if you get distracted and leave it to steep too long.

Ceylon Vintage Silver Tips from Harney & Sons
97

I am just loving this tea this summer. It is surprising, refreshing and perfect for summer sipping. Sadly, it is also about all gone…

Tower of London Blend from Harney & Sons
87

I am not a huge fan of hightly flavored tea, but this one is good occasionally. Its honey flavor is prominent, and somehow the bouquet makes me think of fruitcake. Darkly sweet, fruity, texture is a bit heavy.

Tower of London Blend from Harney & Sons

Vanilla Comoro from Harney & Sons
97

Dense, complex, naturally sweet; those are its nice qualities. But I have to be in the right frame of mind for this tea, on the down side it is decaf and its bouquet is like a strong vanilla candle.

Green Tea with Coconut, Ginger and Vanilla from Harney & Sons
94

I really cannot add anything that has not already been said. The lovely color, aroma, and taste transports me to an exotic part of the world and makes me crave a delicious Larb salad, crispy fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce, or anything with basil.

Ceylon Vintage Silver Tips from Harney & Sons
97

Sadly, finished off this package of tea today. Happily, a new package arrived this evening! Magical!

Still loving this tea, it is pale in color but suprisingly complex and flavorful. I think I will go prepare another cup right now!

Queen Catherine from Harney & Sons
94

I have way too many teas in my cupboard and so I don’t get around to visit each one that often. But I really should make a point of visiting Queen Catherine on a more regular basis as this is truly one of my faves for black tea. Tonight, I sweetened it just a tad with some cane sugar that is infused with real red raspberry juice, produced by a small Indiana company called “The Salt Girls”. (This sugar is good enough to just eat) Might need to have one more cup…

Youthberry White Tea from Teavana
52

It seemed so good in the shop. But at home, it is just sorta … meh … not offensive, just not that enticing.

Chocolate Tea from Harney & Sons
94

Yep. It IS a chocolate tea kind of night. MMMMmmmmmm…….

Rose Scented from Harney & Sons
93

Something so primal and soothing about this tea, and girlie. It is becoming my addiction.

Russian Country from Harney & Sons
96

Mmmmm, I like this one more and more…it is becoming my go-to tea!

Cocoa Cardamom Seduction from Talbott Teas
81

Shared with Mom and Cyndi on Mothers Day Weekend. Made sure that I was heavy handed with the leaf and turned out a delicious pot, enjoyed by all — especially by me, who did not really enjoy it so much the first time.

Bio

I have loved tea since I was a child, this being a gift bestowed upon me by my mother. It all began with her cups of sweetened Constant Comment (sometimes spiked with a bit of Jim Beam, to cure aches and pains) on cold evenings, and over the years I have enjoyed many teas that have made their way to my kitchen from all over the world.

I must admit from the start that am not a tea-snob. I enjoy the flavors from my own summer garden all through the winter months. There are a few grocery-varieties that will always be on hand (especially Constant Comment) that evoke dear memories of the past. And in that never-quite quenched search for the exquisite, the never-before known flavor, the ultimate tea…well, there are some of those that I love as well. The point is, the longer I live, the more I realize that free can taste just as delicious as $$$. Drink what tastes good, and what satiates your soul.
