First tea of the day today! This is one of those teas where the first sip warms you right to the core, the pear and apple hitting you right away, despite how subtle their flavours can normally be, and then the marigold and sencha leaving a delicious aftertaste. I can’t believe it took me this long to actually buy a tin of this!

I initially didn’t think that I’d be able to take this tea seriously just because this name (which was all but immediately shot down by my friends) – but I love Buttered Rum and I love lime, so this seemed fairly natural for me to want to try.

Similar to Fantasy Island – which doesn’t surprise me, considering they’re fairly similar teas – this gets better the longer it’s steeped. Unlike the Fantasy Island, this gets somehow both sickly sweet and quite bitter without warning – one sip was perfectly timed, the next was oversteeped.

Overall, it’s good, especially if you’re a fan of their Lime Bang. I’d recommend giving this a try if you like both coconut and lime, since the two flavours mingle quite well with one another around the black tea and the kola nut. I can’t help but to compare it to Fantasy Island, though, and this just pales in comparison for me.

Because, clearly, I’m not reviewing this enough. (But it’s one of their newest, so that makes it okay, right?)

I resteeped my leaves from earlier to see if this is the exception that proves my never-resteep-black rule, and it seems it is – I kind of forgot about it, so it was steeping for about ten minutes, and it’s incredibly strong (and just a teensy bit bitter from oversteeping), but it’s actually the best cup of this that I’ve had so far! The steeping time should definitely be on the longer side; this tea just seems to get better with strength!

I let this steep a little longer this time, and the smell and taste are divine – the flavours really mingle better when you’ve let them have time to fully develop. Had to up my rating a bit – definitely leave the infuser in your cup a bit longer than you want to!

It basically tastes like Buttered Rum – one of my favourite all-around teas from DavidsTea – but with the addition of some delicious raspberry. I wish I had steeped it a little longer, to be honest – it was quite light.

Delicious! Wish it were lighter so that I could afford to buy a decent amount, sadly.

Mint Chocolate Rooibos from DAVIDsTEA

I thought I’d dislike this, ‘cause of the mint chocolate, but it’s delicious!

Much better tasting than the Vicks Vaporub it smells like! Cleared my sinuses immediately, and without the weird feeling of Vicks. (Also, I love the tin!)

This is possibly my favourite tea from DavidsTea – it’s delicate, but still flavourful, and the leaves can be resteeped at least four or five times, with a slightly different flavour each time.
