257 Tasting Notes
My free Lupicia sample this month… This is nice and citrusy. I don’t really like real grapefruit, it has a weird aftertaste and is kind of bitter tasting to me. But this is good, it has the grapefruit taste without the bitter weird aftertaste. It steeped pretty dark green for a short minute half steep but wasn’t too strong at all. I like the aftertaste. I think it’d be good cold, too bad I don’t live near my Lupicia. I got a flyer in my newsletter too for a couple free sample bags if you bring in the flyer to the Ala Moana location, I wonder if you could pick what kind? I guess I could send my flyer to my buddy and get her to pick it up if she’s going… Why do we not have a road between islands? It’d improve the economy, I’d shop a lot. :P
Ahh, sweet strawberry and vanilla. It’s good but I steeped it a little too long and the vanilla was way stronger than any strawberry taste. It’s good, tastes familiar… The smell is yummy.
Definitely a nice smelling tea but tastes good too. There’s no way to do multiple short steeping before work in the morning unfortunately so I have yet to try that way. Still this is a warm, toasty tasting tea. Even if I forgot it steeping while I was getting my lunch packed for the day it came out without bitterness. It’s tasty all by itself.
Whoa. This is STRONG. I made it for iced tea.. so even slightly more diluted than normal it was almost too strong. There’s so much of it too so I’ll be drinking this for a while. This is my first tin of tea from Damn Fine Tea, it came with a cute magnet and all… wonder if all the teas are so strong. Smells great dry and brewed.
This is a nice tea but If I didn’t know it was pistachio ice cream I don’t think I’d be able to tell. It’s nutty and smooth vanilla but I dunno if I got a specifically pistachio ice cream vibe. All the same it is a good tea that is easy to drink.
This is a pretty good one, thanks for the sample Laurent. I kind of forgot it so it must have steeped like 10+ minutes but still turned out good. It totally does taste like peaches, apricot and cream but the taste changes as it cools. I tasted more cream when it was hotter and then at the end the apricot was strongest. I wonder how why they chose this flavoring for Scorpio? I would’ve thought something bolder but its nice. I like samples, I like apricot but not a lot so I don’t think I’d buy it to drink often.
I wasn’t expecting much of this since I haven’t really like the white teas I’ve had a whole lot. I think they come off too delicately for me. But this tastes great. It smelled like toffee, it tasted like toffee – sweet and nutty, stronger than I was expecting too but not so much that it is horribly artificial either. I like it so much I didn’t ask if anyone else at home wanted to try… I know, not nice. Next time…
Wow, this tea is sweet and fruity. I like it. The cherry really stands out and I don’t think any other tea I’ve tried so far has this strong of a cherry taste. It totally reminds me of some candy that I can’t remember the name of. I’ve been mostly drinking stuff that I’ve already had trying to “get through” the stash but wanted to finally try new tea. It’s a holiday today so I have time to enjoy the tea, good time for tasting. Thanks to Laurent for asking me what I’d like to try when I made an order. Nina’s Tea has awesome customer service!
This is good as an iced tea. I like the citrus flavor that comes out in it. It’s pretty light and refreshing, I definitely think that cold is how I’ll be using the rest of this. I’ll have to see how it goes cold-brewed (more time for me to sleep in on the morning before packing for work). Thanks again to Jude. Now I should find a yuzu tea that I can get easily on my own :)
