Silk Dragon from The Tea Merchant

Amazing! If you like Oolong and french vanilla you are doing yourself a disservice by not drinking this tea! This is a new staple for me though i have the feeling i will be running out all the time.

Yu Lu Yan Cha Black from Verdant Tea

SO this was pretty good!
I like the complex flavors i was getting, loved the other tea more that i had of verdants so maybe thats why i’m not 100% floored. but this is really good though i did not really get any astringency and i do like a touch of it as its a sign of a good tea i hear.

The second steep was not nearly as good and i had to add some other things to perk it back up. Overall a very nice tea!

Laoshan Black from Verdant Tea

So what can i say about this almost legendary tea here on Steepster. Nothing new that the 120 other reviews have not said. So all i will say is i was not disappointed with the very high expectation i had of this tea. Expensive… yes, but it commands this price and is well worth it. and a must buy.

Strawberry Oolong from Butiki Teas
91

Sweet sweet strawberry! smooth, buttery oolong making a pale gold liquor. Very very good, couldn’t taste any astringency so not sure what that says but this was extremely yummy! A well balanced tea with good strawberry flavor mixed with excellent oolong.

This can easily be steeped many times you only loos the strawberry flavor but then get a nice oolong. So win win!

Now i need to cold brew this to see how it does!
I’m thinking i’ll like it even more than hot.

Earl Grey from Lupicia
91

So another tea i tried from my friend. So glad i did!
So let see,
The aroma… very Earl Grey no surprise, strong aroma but good and expected. Like all good tea the aroma is stronger than the flavor.
The Taste… Bergamot! Surprise! no just kidding but it’s earl grey. I get citrus, with floral notes and even some earthy notes (very slight). Very enjoyable, well balanced.

Earl Greys are easy to get wrong for me as they seem to be either too weak, too strong or too pungent. This one is well balanced and i would recommend it to anyone!

Melon White Tea from Lupicia
98

So my friend from Japan came down and brought this tea with him. Melon tea… i was weary at first but wow is this good! Not as much tea flavor as melon, like ripe honeydew naturally sweet this is like something you would get yourself for a nice treat, perfect in spring and summer. I’m going to steal some from him now just don’t tell him.

The light white tea is the perfect base for this. If you want something refreshing light and delicious this is for you. If you don’t hear from me i probably had an overdose of melon tea lol

Double Bergamot Earl Grey from Stash Tea Company
76

So i’ve been out of practice. But the good news is i have a ton of teas i need to add tastings for. So i will get this out of the way since its the most recent that i tried during the holidays at my parents house.

What a strong aroma from this tea, but i guess with double bergamot this should be expected. i added a bit of milk to this one to cut down on the strong flavor (which is a rarity for me) but after that it was very enjoyable. I generally like lighter earl greys so if you like it strong this one is definitely for you.

French Earl Grey from The Tea Merchant
100

So i’m a big Organic and Fair Trade nut. So when my friends told me about this company that has those types of teas i knew i had to try.

Being a fan of earl grey and all things French i tried this blend first. I must say it was magnificent! The vanilla and bergamot compliment each other so well in this blend. perfectly balanced and the vanilla is so yummy! This will be my new go to tea!
