This tea was inside the cold kit (I think that’s what it’s called). Before I steeped it I thought it smelled a bit strong on the cardamom side. I used the DAVIDsTEA thermometer to check when the water had reached exactly 85 degrees in the kettle and then I dropped in the infuser for about 5 and a half minutes. I enjoy the resulting tea more than I expected. I’ve travelled in Northern Africa and mint tea is certainly a staple of hospitality, people give it to guests all the time, so it brought back a few memories. This tea has a surprisingly mild flavor but then a cooling burst in the aftertaste, nice and refreshing.

Third tea I’ve tried from the Tiny Tea pack. This is the white tea offering but it is blended with black tea. The smell of this tea is really great but not strong or overpowering. The taste is also very nice, a rich nut flavor. Tried a second cup with a dash of milk because of the black tea content, it didn’t really need it and I preferred it plain.

drank Blood Orange Pu'erh by DAVIDsTEA

Another tea out of the tiny tea pack. I’ve wanted to try Pu’erh for a while. Accidentally steeped this one for too long (about 8 mins because I was doing something else while brewing it. First impressions are good. It has a rich kind of flavor I can’t really describe underneath the tasty orange. Overall I’m impressed.

Picked this tea up in a sample bundle with one of each tea variety. First thought on opening this one is it smells great. I pre-heated the pot and steeped it in boiling water for about 6 minutes (I tend to use the long end of the suggested times). The resulting tea is a nice pale-reddish color. I added a bit of milk before tasting. Wow, this tea could become on of my favorites. There is a subtle baked goods sort of taste that really hangs around on the after-taste. I think the milk goes especially well here. Might have to steep another pot when this one finishes.

Side note: I’m watching Liverpool v. Swansea as I drink the tea so the red color is very fitting.
