Merry Cranberry from DAVIDsTEA
99

I am loving this tea. Nice and light but still Christmassy (is that a word). I was wondering about the star anise and wether it would take over the tea or not but it hasn’t in any of the cups I have had so far. The green tea comes out quite nicely even with everything else going on.
And my favourite part? I love eating the cranberries out of my steeper after the tea is done steeping. So yummy.
This even resteeps well once. I normally prepare my tea with the regular paramaters and then I just add more water to the steeper and get the tea when I have finished my first cup.
I do have to remember to pay attention when at David’s getting my tins refilled. I asked the girl for 100 g of this one and when I saw the tin wasn’t full I told her to go ahead and fill it. Well imagine my shock when I looked at the tin at home and it had 190g in it. Whoops. Guess I won’t need to refill this tin for awhile.

Butterfly Jasmine (Reserve Collection) from DAVIDsTEA

I am really enjoying this tea. I used to only get it as a to go tea from David’s but decided to buy a small amount (It is expensive) to have at work with me. It is great in the afternoons when I have had to deal with lots of people on the phone who want me to do lots for them and not much for themselves and am generally irritated at the world. Butterfly Jasmine makes the world a happy place again and I even resteep it. The second steep isn’t near as good but has enough remnants of the first to make it still amusing just not fully happy.

Buddha's Blend from DAVIDsTEA

I am loving this tea. I have never had white hibiscus (that I know of) and I am pleasantly surprised. I have been in a very green tea mood recently so thought I would give this one a try. It is nice and fruity. I am going to try resteeping this one tomorrow morning to see if it will stand up to multiple steeps. Really enjoying this and will definately rebuy.
3 minute steep in 82C water.

I am going to David’s in Westboro tomorrow but by happy coincidence we were helping out my SIL with her courier company and needed to be in the city today. And we just happened to be near David’s. Yippee. So I convinced hubby that I needed to stop to run in and get a to go tea. And this was one of the tea’s of the day. I really enjoyed this. Hubby even threatened to steal it from me. Can’t wait to buy some tomorrow.
Unfortunately they didn’t have Paradise Found ready to sample yet so I couldn’t try it but the guy that served me said that I was a regular at the store so he would make sure I got to try it next time I’m in. I haven’t been in the store for over a month and I was still remembered. Love the customer service at David’s.

OMG. I am so glad I stopped at David’s today. We were doing some flower deliveries for my BIL (they are short couriers so we fill in sometimes) and between deliveries we were driving by David’s in Westboro in Ottawa and I decided to take a few minutes and stop. Wow. This was the tea of the day and I loved it. When it was hot the cinnamon heart candy flavour was so great. After it cooled some it was really cinnamony (is that a word?) and I still enjoyed it but it was really hot. Almost made me reach for my Zantac. I am looking forward to making this one at home. Hope they make it permanent.

Fired Up Fennel from DAVIDsTEA

Not going to rate this because I screwed it up but OMG it was awful. I knew I wasn’t going to have time to let the tea steep because we were on our way out the door to meet family for breakfast so I decided on an herbal tea since the “leaves” can be left in. Well not this tea. Ugh. After 20 minutes I could finally take a sip of it while driving (it was also in my Timolino mug so it stays super hot) and all I could taste was the chili pepper. So spicy. And I like spicy food but this was uncomfortably hot. I think I even burnt my tongue.
Looking forward to trying this one again when I can steep this one properly. Hopefully it will be better.

Sweet Ginger Heat from DAVIDsTEA

Took this to my meeting tonight. I wasn’t sure from the smell if it was what I wanted tonight but wanted to give something new a try. This was great. It was a few hours ago I had it so I can’t remember specifics but I did really enjoy it and so did the 3 people that smelled it and had to try it even before I had a chance to. Can’t wait to have this again, maybe tomorrow and I will elaborate on this review.

Matcha Matsu from DAVIDsTEA
98

I am in love with the Starbucks Green Tea Latte. Well today I made my own with this Matcha. And it was amazing. I am so glad I got some of this. I see many Matcha Latte’s in my future. Made it with Vanilla Almond milk and a small amount of agave. Yummy.

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble from DAVIDsTEA

Today was my birthday and I mentioned to my 3 year old that I wanted breakfast in bed knowing he would tell my husband. Well after awhile they brought up my toast and to my surprise tea. Hubby used to make me tea all the time but since I do loose leaf tea now he is almost afraid to make it. Well for my birthday today he bit the bullet and made me a great one. He said the choices were overwhelming so he just stuck his hand in the container of little foil bags and pulled out this one. I was a little worried because I didn’t know how long he steeped it for or anything but it was wonderful. I normally have this one as a night time drink when I am having a sugar craving but it was wonderful as a morning tea. I will have to do this again some day. And now maybe he will make teas for me more often.

Finally having day 8 from my advent calendar. I can’t believe that I opened the wrong day when I knew about the gold tree covering the 1 of the 18. ARGH.

Oh well. This is a great tea for tonight because I am having problems falling asleep tonight. My little guy turns 3 tomorrow (today actually since it is after midnight) and we just finished putting all the balloons on his floor and the streamers on his door and I am just so excited for him to get up and see it. I hope he thinks it is cute and starts his day off right. Birthday’s should be exciting and he gets gyped with it being so close to Christmas. Still can’t believe he is 3.

Dragonwell from DAVIDsTEA

This is finally what I have been looking for in a straight green tea. I may have hit the steeping temp right on this one first try. Of course trying to duplicate it with our regular kettle may be hard but at least I know I can do this right. Only steeped for 3 minutes. Lovely light colour and tasted. Can’t wait to have this again. Need to rebuy soon though since I only bought a small amount.

Cold 911 from DAVIDsTEA

Made this tonight. I am not fond of the smell of the dry tea but I need anything I can get to help me out with colds since I can’t use cold medication with my high bloodpressure.
I am hoping to kick whatever I am currently getting in the butt with this cold. I added some Bravissimo to it tonight. I think next time I will have the Cold 911 alone since the chamomile from the Bravissimo is really taking over. Can’t wait to try it alone. Hope this cold/whatever goes away soon.

The Steeper - DAVIDsTEA from Teaware

I want to add another great recommendation for this. Just got it this afternoon but it is amazing. And it is super easy to clean. I may actually consider getting another one so that I can hold the leaves for resteeping and to keep my blacks from my other teas. Still on the fence on that one.

Yellow Dragon from DAVIDsTEA

I have had a great tea day. The 2 teas I have tried of the ones I bought today are really great.

I also bought a steeper today so it was exciting to watch the little balls of tea unfurl in it. The taste is great with a nice lemon undertone. I think this will be great in the winter when I am feeling under the weather. Can’t wait to tomorrow morning when I can try resteeping the leaves.

This is another keeper.

Kanpe Tea from DAVIDsTEA
96

I got this tea today in the hopes that it can replace my beloved Pink Flamingo that I am almost out of and can’t order again until January when it returns for a limited time.

I am happy to say I am not dissapointed. It is different from Pink Flamingo but is also wonderful. It is nice and tart. I will add another review later when I try it again but this tea is definately a keeper. And it is permanent.

Carrot Cake from DAVIDsTEA
67

I was really hoping to love this one. I made a travel mug to take with me to my WW meeting last night. And the great thing about all these teas is that having them has reduced my craving for sweets. And they are 0 points if I put nothing in them. So since I like Carrot Cake I was hoping I would love this but no such luck. There is an odd smell to it. I can’t even describe it but it hits my nose and messes with the taste. It is an ok tea. I will try this one again. I put almond milk in it so I will try it plain and see if that changes anything. Maybe I will try baking with it.

Love Tea #7 from DAVIDsTEA
97

Tried this one as a sample last night. I had it in the store months ago as a sample and didn’t like it at all. So when I got the sample in my last order I was thinking of giving it away. But it has so many things I like I decided to say “what the heck” and give it a shot. Well I loved it. So good. I will defiantely be rebuying this one.

Secret Weapon from DAVIDsTEA
95

Got this as a sample in my last order from David’s. I have always wanted to try this one and tonight seemed the best night to do it. Stupid furnace isn’t working. Not sure what the issue is but the house is holding at 60 to 62F and it is supposed to warm up over the weekend and next week so we can wait a bit to get it looked at (like until hubby gets paid next week) And to top it off I am having a case of the sniffles. So hopefully this will warm me up and help me hold of this cold that is coming.

Taste is very nice. Kind of overwhelming with the almonds but I like them so that is ok. I was worried about the licorice because the only licorice tasting thing I like is Sambuca shots but you can’t taste the licorice at all in this. I think this is one I will get a small amount of so that I can have it when in the mood for it as I don’t think this is an every day tea.

Mom's Apple Pie from DAVIDsTEA
98

My son goes skating on Wednesday mornings and it was a rush to get out of the house today. I made this one on my way out the door thinking I would take the tea bag out when we got to the rink. Well I forgot. When I got back to the car I realized my mistake and was worried that it would be oversteeped. Well I can report that after 2 hours in the mug the tea was still good. Less apple and lots of cinnamon but still delicious. No bitterness at all. And the tea was still fairly warm too. It was a nice surprise and helped me recover (mentally) from the fall I had on the ice. 2 year olds will take you down with them when falling. Bruised knee and sore back later at least I didn’t land on him.
