My first impression of this tea was that it had quite a strong medicinal smell when I opened the box, which is not particularly pleasant. It reminded me of cough lozenges. I couldn’t quite figure out if that was the rooibos, the lemon or the ginger. But I gave the tea a chance and had it with a dash of milk (which I wouldn’t normally do with a tea that includes lemon). Upon googling rooibos tea I think it might be due to the cinnamic acid it naturally contains. Luckily in this case the smell is not the same as the taste of the tea. I think it’s quite a pleasant caffeine-free alternative to regular black tea. Would like to compare it to rooibos tea without lemon & ginger.

Rooibos is usually such a calm and mellow tea, nutty and like sweet bread kind of smell. It’s definitely a delicious tea if it is mixed with the right flavors. I usually enjoy a vanilla variety or just by itself.
