So now that I have a proper infuser vs. T-sacs that I used in my earlier tasting note, I just want to say that using an infuser TRULY makes a huge difference!

While I found the tea to be delicious before, steeping it in the infusuer gave me a far more flavorful cup, and the taste of raisins is delightfully stronger while still giving me the chocolatey cinnamon notes at the same time. It’s not just my taste buds picking up on the difference, but I can see the difference visually as well! The steeped leaves in my T-sac before didn’t look much different than the dry, but in the infuser they’ve opened up into much bigger leaves, and the liquor in my mug is also much darker.

So in other words, deliciousness just got even more delicious! Bye bye T-sacs :D

I’m trying to convince my parents to stop using the T-sacs and start using infusers, especially with their more expensive teas. The space the leaves get is a good point to use in my argument!

Yes, definitely keep trying, it’ll really enhance their enjoyment of the tea! The T-sacs I was using before were fairly large, so I assumed they had enough room to unfurl, but I see now I was very much mistaken. All the tea I drank with a T-sac before seems like such a waste now. Ah well, better late then never. :)

Hello! I’m a 24 year old Canadian, currently working at Starbucks while I figure out what I want to do with myself in life, haha.

Like most everyone else, I grew up with teabags, and then discovered the grass really WAS greener on the other side with loose leaf. Nowadays I drink nearly exclusively loose, but will drink a bagged tea if I don’t care what I’m having.

My favorite kind of tea is black, and unflavored, although I do enjoy an occasional dessert black. I like whites second best. I’ve recently been dipping my toes into honeybush tisanes, greens and oolongs.

My favorite vendors are Butiki Teas and Verdant Teas. Both have fantastic teas, above and beyond customer service (especially Butiki), and fair prices for their very high quality teas. I can’t recommend them enough.

Purely for tasting notes references, I don’t use any additives for my teas. Older tasting notes for blacks was with milk+sugar, and then with just milk. Whites, oolongs, greens and herbals are all drunk straight unless otherwise specified in the notes.
