Omg off to DavidsTea again today to get 50g of Lime Gelato. Well they were out of Lime Gelato but I left with a bunch more 10g samples ah! So bad, yet so good haha. I’m just steeping Cookie Dough now (which yep, you guessed it – smells great dry).
Oh yum! Yep like liquid cookie dough (but not overpoweringly sweet). I’m tasting the the chocolate for sure and surprisingly whatever nut taste is in there isn’t turning me off this tea. Another great one from DavidsTea :)
Hmm which shall I try next?
Okay second cup of this from my sample pack I picked up a couple days ago. I’m really enjoying this one, but I’m not really sure why. I can taste both the coconut and chamomile – I think it’s the chamomile I’m enjoying. It’s a interesting mix.
Any suggestions to steep longer or shorter? Or maybe I should keep it as is – I am enjoying it, just a little unsure with the mix of white and black tea!
Happy New Year :)
Oh yum I can smell this one steeping from across the room. Ah blueberries. I love blueberries but usually I find blueberry flavoured things much too strong. We will see in a moment!
There’s blueberries alright but the taste is nothing compared to the smell. I was hoping the taste wasn’t as intense as the smell (since that would be like drinking actual blueberry jam) but it just seemed to be the bare minimum taste-wise. I’ll finish this sample but probably won’t purchase again.
Update: Well I cold brewed this one as well (I’m thinking a wee bit too long – since yesterday morning before work). I’m liking it more than when it was hot for sure but I’m not quite sold. There’s certainly more of a blueberry taste with a nice sweetness at the end of the sip but it seems not quite “true blueberry” enough for me. Hmm.
Update: By the end of the cup it’s grown a little more on me but still not enough for the permanent collection.
So I’ve been writing all my tasting notes as I’ve been drinking my teas because I’m simply no good at remembering specifics once I’m done. And I drank this one while my fiance tinkered around fixing the broken furnace and completely forgot to add a tasting note.
So, from what I remember – definitely yum. This was another of my samples I picked up while at DavidsTea today. I love when coconut works out in my teas! I LOVE coconut – the smell, the taste, everything! However when it’s too much it’s just blech. This tea was great for it yay! And I liked the mix of black and white tea – neat. I’ll have to have another cup and decide from there if this gets the upgrade to my collection.
Nothing like a little Lime Gelato to start off what promises to be a crazy Monday. Mmm does this ever smell yummy both dry and steeped.
The lovely lady who packaged up what seemed like a million samples at DavidsTea yesterday convinced me to try this one. Lime isn’t usually something I gravitate towards but I’m actually quite excited to try it :)
And success! Tastes just like it smells. Delish! ’m loving the yogurt taste with the apple. Definitely a treat tea for me but that warrants having it around all the time :) I may upgrade this one to my permanent collection.
Update: Ahh, even better when it’s slightly cooled!
Wow cinnamon. I couldn’t smell it dry but it’s all I can smell steeped. Just waiting on this tea to cool before I taste it.
Hmm. I’m not really loving it. Must be the hot cinnamon. I really don’t think I’ve ever had a tea with cinnamon in it before – even when they try to sprinkle it on top at tea shops I ask that they don’t. That must be what’s throwing me off with this one. I can perhaps taste a slight hint of vanilla but other than that it’s just cinnamon.
I don’t really know how milk would go with this one. Or if I would be better iced. I’ll leave a rating once I’ve given it another try.
This one smells great dry! Not what I was expecting when I heard cranberry. Cranberry is delicious – with turkey dinner. This was another of the samples I picked up a DavidsTea today.
It’s just steeping now. I’m quite excited to try it :)
Hmm not quite as yummy smelling once steeped but still pretty good. Ah so impatient waiting for it to cool but I’d like to have taste buds left for the rest of my new teas!
Oh yum. I’m enjoying this one. I’m not quite sure what I’m tasting but I know there are cranberries and pears from what I could see. Okay, I’m getting some pear a few sips in. I had a slight fear the cranberry would be overwhelming but nope! I may try steeping it longer next time for a bit more flavour. Overall yet another great choice from DavidsTea :)
Update February 15/13: I had 3 cups of this bad boy today. I’m loving it. I picked up 50g and I think I’ll add this to my permanent collection. It’s just got such a lovely taste for cranberries and black tea. Must be the pear. It’s excellent as it cools. I’ve found the sweet spot – not smoking hot and not cold but somewhere in between there. I think I’ll whip up another cuppa.
So I went to DavidsTea, yet again, and got some (too many) 10g sample bags of a bunch of teas I’ve been wanting to try. This just happened to be one of them.
First of all I despise fruit dipped in chocolate so I’m really not quite sure what possessed me to try this in the first place however, I am enjoying it as much as I would something I’d rather not have :P
I can taste everything here – chocolate, strawberry, and even a slight floral taste. For someone who enjoys chocolate and fruit this would be perfect because that’s exactly what it tastes like – strawberries dipped in chocolate. Bang on for what they were aiming for :)
The name of this tea is so fun!
This one smells great dry and steeped – more the apple and lemon than the kiwi. I’m not finding the taste as potent as the smell. I’ll have to try steeping it longer next time to see if I can get more of a flavour. I’d also like to try it as an iced tea since these fruity ones seem to scream summer :) It’s certainly unique if nothing else!
I’ll give this one a rating once I’ve tried some variations.
Update: I’ve tried this one hot and it didn’t wow me. I’ve been cold brewing it since yesterday morning before work (oops I meant to try it last night haha).
I can’t decide if I’m enjoying it more or not. It’s a fascinating taste thought I’m not quite sure it’s a kiwi taste. I probably left it too long with the leaves.
