239 Tasting Notes
This time i conducted a small experiment.
I did two simultaneous brewings.
1: 180ml banko-yaki kyushu
2: 200ml glass teapot
I used 7g / 180ml 100C water in preheated pots.
3: infusions 45s/1m/2m
The differance in taste was clearly noticable.
The banko-yaki had a much softer mellower taste, with somewhat stronger aftertaste. The liquid was a bit more foggy aswell.
The glasspot tasted a bit sharper more fruity but with less aftertaste.
My conclusion is that banko-yaki isn´t a very suitable material for brewing black teas.
Preparation
7g /220ml yixing @ 90C
1/2/3 minutes
3 good infusions. A bit malty but without the usual sweetness that im used to in yunnan blacks. Instead there is some astringency.
To my taste this tea does not come near other yunnan blacks.
Id rather go for a moijang golden buds or feng qing dian hong anyday.
However it IS a quility tea that can hanle multiple infusions.
Preparation
Another try yielded better results.
This time i used 10g/220ml yixing @95C
1: 2:00
2: 2:15
3: 2:45
first cup was strong. A bit of bitterness.
Other 2 was just right. some astringency. I think the flavour is a mix of yunnan black and darjeeling second flush?
Preparation
Wonderful!
I did 5 infusions.
9 pearls in a 220ml yixingpot.
1: 1min 100C Clear taste of honey and a bit of chocolate aftertaste.
2: 2min 100C A bit long. will shorten to 1:30 next time. still sweet.
added 30 sec per steeping with superresult.
Ill be sure to keep this one in my cupboard.
