20 Tasting Notes

At first I didn’t really get much flavor from this tea but I was having some autumn allergies a few weeks ago and my sense of taste was not too wonderful. Since then, things have improved and I decided this is a yummy tea! Would consider ordering more.

So I heard this tea was quite tasty from Tealizzy and I got some today! Well she was right…it’s quite good. Made a cup this afternoon while cooking up a batch of roasted butternut squash soup. It went great with my Pfeffernusse cookie from TJ’s (love that store!). I added a little honey and steeped for about 3 minutes and was surprised how nice it was as I usually don’t like rooibos teas much. It seems to remind me of something I currently drink, either Oatmeal Raisin Cookie or Monkey Bread from Della Terra. Not sure why but might be the mix of spices. I recommend trying it.

drank Chocolate Delight by Tealux

Thank you to Tealizzy for the sample of this tea. It was nice and I enjoyed two delicious cups plus re-brews. However, I’m not inclined to buy any as I wasn’t sure I really got much chocolate flavor. But I’m always up for trying new teas. This was my first tea from Tealux.

I’m surprised you didn’t get chocolate from this one, since I think it’s the most chocolatey tea I’ve had. Oh well. Everyone seems to taste things differently.

Well, unfortunately, my fall allergies seem to be the culprit as I had chocolate pie tonight and it tasted like nothing. I’m sure that tea is better than I was able to tell. :(

I think I’m having the same problem, which sucks because I just got my order from Butiki. In better news, I get to go back to work today!

I purchased a tin of this for the first time last fall and I have only 2 bags left after this morning. Fall is definitely in the air and my morning walks with my corgi are getting cooler every day so it seemed appropriate to have this one today. I really like the flavor even if it is a bagged tea. Very good flavor, not too much overpowering spice flavor and the second brew isn’t bad either. If I see it at the store, I will probably buy another tin to get me through til next season.

This is my favorite pumpkin tea. I’ll probably pick some up too, if I remember!

So after a first and second brew of this tea today, I’m not really loving it. Sure smells wonderful! But, nothing about the taste is really grabbing me. In fact, it’s coming across rather bitter and I’m not really getting much chocolate at all. I’ll be happy to use the rest of the small portion I purchased but won’t be ordering more.

What is it supposed to taste like? What’s the “tango” for? ;) Remind me to give you some chocolate delight tea….you’ll never see chocolate tea the same again!

Dkcox50

Ingredients:
Queen selected black tea, toasted mate and South African rooibos; dark and white chocolate; sunflower petals and natural chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut flavors. Contains caffeine.
I tried to paste the ingredients above. Not sure all of them are present. The tea contains some rooibos apparently.
Chocolate delight sounds good!

Oh now I see the entire list copied in so there you have it.

drank Almond Cream by Queen Mary Tea
20 tasting notes

This tea has an amazingly wonderful aroma, like marzipan in a cup! I love almonds so I purchased a small amount and I have not been disappointed. The flavor is very nice, not too strong, but just right. I have read that this shop buys some tea blends from another company and does blend some of their own so I’m not sure which category this one falls into. All I can say is that it’s tasty, and I’m enjoying it so far.

I purchased this tea (and a few others!) while visiting my son in Seattle. The Queen Mary Tea Room is just a few steps away from their little shop full of teas and other tea items including bone china cups. This tea smells like summer…..peach and apricot come through for sure. When brewed, the flavor is very nice and the fruit flavors do not overpower the black tea. A second brew was ok but definitely not as flavorful as the first. I’m always searching for a nice apricot tea and have been enjoying Della Terra Apricot Carousel (which they will no longer be blending). As with all teas I try, I will need to have a couple more servings before deciding whether to buy more.

I received a sample tea pyramid of this with my last Harney order and finally got around to brewing it. As I was drinking it, I kept thinking it reminded me of something. Like other reviewers, I can see why some think it’s like melted cinnamon candies. But I suddenly realized half-way through the cup that it reminds me of Good Earth tea that I used to like years ago but has fallen out of my tea collection. It was pleasant but I’m not inclined to buy any. I noticed on Harney FB, that some folks like it iced. That does sound good so may try for the second steep today.

This is my first tea review! After ordering several teas from Della Terra Teas, I was very much looking forward to the Monkey Bread sample. It smelled good upon opening the package but was a little strange to measure as it was clumpy. I was glad I used my Teavana steeper for this one as the hot water dissolved the clumps and I was better able to stir them to help the process along. As the clumps broke apart, little white particles appeared. Maybe the yogurt bits? Anyway, it was a fairly tasty cup but I’m not sure what I think of it yet. There’s something a bit odd about the flavor but I’m looking forward to giving it another try before I finalize my opinion. This tea was prepared with boiling water and steeped for 4 min.

Yay for your first review! ;)

I love tea! I started drinking tea in the morning in high school after finding it delightful to put the kettle on first thing and savor that hot cuppa, thanks to my Dutch grandmother. Mostly I drank black and green teas in bags until about 3 years ago when my daughter bought me a steeper from Teavana, making loose tea my favorite. My favorite brands are Harney & Sons, Lupicia, and Stash loose leaf. I would have to say that I am addicted to Harney’s Paris!
Besides drinking several cups of tea per day, I love to hike, do Zumba, knit, read, and dream up trip ideas on my iPad.
