I was happy to see this tea in the 12 days of Christmas sampler as I wanted to give it another try. I steeped up two teaspoons with boiling water and only infused for 3 minutes. It was getting pretty dark, so I stopped.

I wish I could like this tea, but there is just something off about it to me. Maybe it is the flavor of the roasted mate, as I have tried other roasted mate’s and not enjoyed them to a greater extent of dissatisfaction than this tea. I taste the cocoa flavor, and that is enjoyable, but there is some off note in the flavor that I just don’t get. Ah, well, there are many more teas out there!

I think this tea is much better as an iced latte sweetened with a little bit of chocolate syrup. It really brings out a creamy malty flavor.

Live in the cornfields of IL, but not too far from the city. Expecting a baby any day now (due Oct 24 2011). Sticking to mainly herbal and low caffeine teas for now. Trying to encourage my husbands tea drinking, but he adds so much sweetner he may as well just drink diet pop. I love trying new teas, and will try any tea once.
