Made this iced tonight. Sweet and fruity with a nice sencha base. I seem to enjoy these teas more iced as of late. Very delicious with a little bit of sweetner. Yum!
555 Tasting Notes
Received this tea from a swap with silvermage2000. This was one of four cherry teas in the swap, and the one I was most curious to try. I’d love to say I was curious to try it because of the flavors, but it was more to do with the French wording in the description.
These leaves smell and tea tastes of a higher quality, akin to those of Dammann Freres and Mariage Freres. The black tea base is quite tasty. I like the cherry flavoring mixed with floral notes. Very enjoyable cup. I think I may need to steep it longer next time at a lower temp to see if more of the almond comes out in the taste.
This makes an amazing iced tea! I added a little splenda to see if it brought out more of the fruit flavors, and wow, either the icing of the tea helped, or the sweetner, but this is mega watermelon flavored with a nice raspberry finish. I love they buttery notes to the sencha base. This is becoming a favorite tea.
Grabbed this for my first cup of the morning. Thought a great flavored tea would help liven up my breakfast of cheerios. This tea did not let me down. The blueberry flavor is rich and tastes just like blueberry preserves/jam that would be in the center of a wonderful, fresh bakery danish. There is sweetness in the cup that reminds me of sweet pastry flakes and if I slurp it a bit, I get the creamy cheese center. Great cup for this morning!
Thanks Rachel for sending some of this my way. This is a sweet tasty morning treat. I taste a lot of the ceylon base, but am getting notes of caramel and slight nutmeg. It doesn’t taste like a flavored tea, it tastes like the leaves were meant to have this flavor to them. Very nice smooth blend. I tried this without additives, although I’m sure it would hold up well to cream and sugar. Very nice all by itself.
Having a second cup of this tonight. Steeped with a tsp of german rock sugar. I’m eating it with a slightly tart honeycrisp apple. I think I lost too much of the apple flavor in this pairing it with the apple, but I like how the cinnamon and the fresh apple taste together. I like the blend of spices in this. Great tea for this time of year:)
Found this at a local grocer. Enjoyed it with some whole grain bread for a snack. It was very sweet, there is fructose in. The lychee is strong and sweet and goes well with the pomegranate.
Another tasty sample from Rachel. I like the masala chai base adagio has, and the chocolate and chocolate chip add a rich and velvety chocolate taste. I added a little bit of german rock sugar and skim milk (would have used cream, but had none after last weeks clumpy cream experience). Ahhh…finally a good home made chai!
Thanks Rachel for sending me so many wonderful teas. I am finally getting back around to trying more of them. The name of this made me grab it tonight. I’ve been watching Vampire Diaries season 1 all day and thought this would be a good way to enjoy the show.
The blood orange in this scared me a bit, but it plays a small part in the flavor of this blend. The CHOCOLATE is the biggest part I taste. Mmmmm chocolate. There is just a bit of rum goodness in the background.
Another winner from Rachel!
Meh. Nothing special. Had a few sips/half a cup and decided I wasn’t ready for this tea yet. It has a strong scent of something I don’t enjoy, but the taste isn’t too bad.
A bag of this was thrown into the sampler box TeaEqualsBliss sent me. Decided to have this to fill my fruity green tea craving. I can definitely taste the raspberry in this. Not a whole lot to this green tea base, but it’s pretty decent. I like the raspberry in this. Should have mixed this with the watermelon raspberry green for an extra raspberry boost!
Yesssssss!
Got this tea back in my possesion yesterday. Opened it up and brewed a steaming mug full with a few ounces of skim milk as soon as I could today. This makes the most rewarding beverage. I love the creamy coconut. This will be a staple in my collection. I’m glad it is on 52teas permanent collection.
Had to see how this compared to the Apple Vanilla Chai White tea from 52teas. Things are quite different between these two teas. This is quite smooth, sweet and full of pear flavor with a great white base. The Chai is full of cinnamon sweetness, hints of apple and other background spices that thicken the taste of the tea. Quite different.
I’m upping the rating on this tea a few points as I finally got the temperature right and steeped it for 30 seconds longer. Really brought out more pear flavor and an overall more flavorful cup. Sad to see I only have another pot/few cups left of this. May as well head over to 52teas and see if there are more available. I’m not ready to go a fall and winter without this blend.
What quick shipping! I received this in my mailbox today, and just had to open it right up. This smells so deliciously of cinnamon and sweetness. And yes, it does look Christmasy with the greenish leaves and pink peppercorns.
The flavor is very spicy, but not so much that it overwhelms the white tea base. The cinnamon is similar to the liquid red hots feel the Red Hot Cinnamon black tea had. I think I’m tasting a bit of apple in the swallow, but I’m not sure if I’m just wanting the sweetness I taste to be the apple, knowing that it should be in there.
Well, if it’s any attest to how good this tea is, I finished it before I was done typing this review:) I can’t decide if I want a second cup of this, or to move on to another new tea. We shall see.
I like to alternate between black and green teas in the morning so as not to over-caffeinate myself. This was what I chose for my morning green. The leaves smell rather sweet, they are quite long dragonwell leaves.
In taste, I get a sweet rhubarb, but not much strawberry or pure vanilla flavor. The dragonwell base comes through strong in this one and the fruit is more of an aftertaste. I smell the vanilla and strawberry in the wet leaf, but just don’t taste it. This is a decent cup, I’m glad to have tried some. Thank you Jaime for sending some my way.
Ahhh…I needed this sweet rich black tea this morning. I really do enjoy caramel teas. This tin is slowly dwindling away :(
Yum. Had a large mug of this this morning. Much thanks to Erin for sending me a sample of this tea. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to try and buy it…it is gone. But there is hope, sounds like a reblend may be in the works. See the discussions.
Watched the temp more on this cup and got a mildly sweet green tea with a light tartness to the aftertaste. There might be the tiniest hint of apple. Glad to have tried this tea. Thank you Jaime for sending me some.
This tea has so much watermelon scent. It comes through very strong in the leaf and in the steep. I don’t smell much raspberry, but I can taste it a bit in the tea. The watermelon flavor in this is such a real juicy sweet watermelon taste, it doesn’t taste like a tart watermelon candy, but just a sweet juicy flavor. I wish the raspberry was there a bit more, but it might distract from the buttery smooth taste of the tea.
I had to try this iced before sending the rest of it away in a swap. It really does well as an iced tea. The blueberry is very present and sweet in this. Very good!
This smells so much like fruit loops! Take into consideration I just brushed my teeth, but got cold and wanted some tea. This tea smells and tastes like an herbal variation of fruit loops. I taste the lemon and rosehiosand chamomile. I’m happy it isn’t a sweet chamomile. I will definitely be getting a box of this soon!
Thank you Erin for sending me some of this tea! You are awesome.
I love how this tea looks, smells and tastes. It’s certainly a winner in my book. The leaves are nice long black tea leaves with bright exuberant pieces of strawberry flair mixed in. I can’t believe how much strawberry was added to this tea. It is TOO good. I wish I had much more of this tea as I’m already wanting a second cup. (I had my first this morning on the way to work). It was a great morning pick me up. The flavor isn’t as creamy as my other strawberry love, Marco Polo, but it is much stronger on the strawberry (from what I can remember). Yummm….making another pot before I watch Biggest Loser.
PS-thanks to AmazonV for the multiple attempts at perfecting this tea and recording your steep times/temps. This helped me brew the perfect cup this morning!
I can’t believe I am just now logging this tea after having it for months. I thought I had tried all of the Dammann teas from the mass tea order Doulton organized, but I guess I missed one.
I really love the quality of these french teas. The base is so rich and beyond words I have to describe it, but it really holds this mix of fruit flavors well. The fruits blend together more than stick out to be noticed individually. I really smell an apricot type scent, and taste a lot of peach/cherry flavors. This is a nice smooth hot tea. I shouldn’t have had a caffeinated tea this late, but I really wanted to try this one.
Enjoyed a few hot mugs of this today. Needed something with caffiene and love the smooth feel of this tea. Nice with just a pinch of sugar to really bring out the apple.
