I got a sample of this from the very generous Dinosara! Thank you so much! I love almond teas and don’t think I have tried one with chocolate yet, nor have I tried Talbott!
It smells very chocolatey when steeped! It smells like the chocolate on a scratch and sniff sticker! I took a few sips of it before I sweetened it and it tasted… strange. Chocolate taste without the sweetness is something my brain isn’t used to. It is pretty darn tasty once sweetened, but I need to step back and let it cool before I burn myself in my eagerness to drink my first cup of the day.
Once cooled a touch I can taste a whole lot of chocolate! Sweet caramel like chocolate! I’m not tasting much almond at the moment, but I’m trying to remember to go easy on judgement during allergy season. I’m getting a little bit of astringency on the back of my tongue each sip, so I may try a shorter steep next time. As it cools even more, the almond starts to come out a bit. Almond or not, this tea is pretty delicious and I’ll have to keep my eye out for this brand and this tea in the future!
