drank Pistachio Ice Cream by Butiki Teas
1711 tasting notes

Cream, grass, vanilla, nuts… yup! I get all the flavors listed! The first sip was fantastic and nutty and sweet, but then my tongue got used to it and it registered as less flavorful a few sips in. If I take a 5 minute break, then the first sip is more intense again. Bodies are so strange! I’m not getting ice cream level of flavor, but I’m also trying to take at least a few sips of my teas without sugar and see if I can do the whole cup that way. This one is much better with sugar and it brings out the cream, making it more true to the ice cream part of it’s name.

This is the second pistachio tea I think I have had and I can taste the similarity of the nut’s flavors in the teas, but pistachio has such a light flavor for a nut that it isn’t as intense as a lot of almond teas that I love. I think almond teas have altered my expectations of nut intensity and I need to readjust my thinking.

Wow, I think I’m enjoying this tea more now that it is cool! Of course that means I’m at the bottom of my cup and only have a sip or two left. :( Time to steep another cup!

My name is Dustin and I like tea.

I’m an added flavor kind of tea fan, but have had a growing appreciation for plain. I want my tea to remind me of cookies and cakes with coconut and almond slices with a hint of chocolate drizzled on top. I want dancing ponies and flying monkeys shooting off fireworks! And no hibiscus. Hibiscus is the devil.
