I’m not a big fan of David’s teas, but I do love their accessories! When I went in today to get a travel mug, I sniffed a few teas and went home with some samples. It seemed only fitting to christen my new Davids mug with one of their offerings. I didn’t read the ingredients and thought that the chunks in the tea were dried fruit. Glad I tasted it before adding sugar since the chunks were really sugar. It is adequately sweetened for me, but I prefer to sweeten my own tea or have the option to go without.
The first sip I took out of my mug burnt my lip, bummer, but a good testament to the mug’s ability. It smells chocolatey and I get a really nice chocolate coconut taste, but there is an odd flavor to it that I dislike. It is almost like that stevia bite that I hate so much. I don’t know what to make of it. I really want to love it, but I’m just not there. There are a few more cups worth in the sample I bought, so we will see if I make friends with this tea over time.

I agree with you about stevia! There is a sort of metallic edge to it, in my palate’s opinion.
I hadn’t thought of it as metallic before, but I’ll have to keep that in mind next time I have some! I really wish I could like it, but it’s not going to happen.
