I think I’m reviewing the right tea. The version I have says it’s from Teas Of Hawaii and their website uses the same font and photos as Coffees of Hawaii.

Anyways…. this tea smells like steamed veggies. Peppery brussel sprouts?
First sip: Ack! Tastes like the water used to steam veggies!
Second sip: Ok, a little papaya in there.
Third sip: I get the tart tang that papaya has, but it lacks the sweetness that goes along with the fruit which really throws the association off.
Fourth sip: Adding sugar and okay… it tastes WAY more like papaya now!
This is interesting. I picked this up this summer while on the Islands, curious since I had never had a coffee cherry tea before. I might try this cold brewed and see if I like it better that way. It might make a good iced tea for the summer.

I’m not really tasting anything in this cup. I’m not sure if it’s just that the tea is older or if my tastes are used to much stronger flavors. It’s a little floral, but that is about it. :/

The Ovation EGs I got were very sharp in taste when I first got them. I decided to give them a while to settle down, they made their way to the back of my cupboard only to reemerge now. Now this tea seems a little on the weak side. I added a little sugar which rounds out the raspberry. The EG flavors are pretty muted which gives the raspberry a little room to come out. Adding cream knocks out the flavors a bit and leaves it tasting more like just a black tea. Not super exciting, but better with just sugar.

I’m not sure how I feel about guyusas. I’m not even sure how to spell it. It seems to have a very earthy flavor, almost tobacco like. The combo of vanilla, mint and lavender is very nice, although this cup seems a little heavier on the lavender than previous cups I have had. I wish I could hide in this cup. I can’t handle long winter breaks when I have no time off from my family to do my own thing. Save me Killer’s Vanilla! Save me from my spawn!

I got a free sample of this with my very small TeaGschwender order. It says it is a rooibos, but there isn’t that much rooibos in there which is nice! It looks like it is mostly mint leaves. I get a subtle undertone of chocolate mixing with the clean taste of mint. This is the only chocolate mint rooibos listed on their site, but I’m surprised to read the ingredients because I taste no hibiscus (thank god!) or lemon grass or lemon balm. It almost has a sweetness of it’s own, so I declined to add sugar which is unusual for me especially with flavored teas.

If the minimum purchase amount was less than 100g, I might think about getting this since I’m enjoying it. I just hate when the minimums are so large when I want to try a little of everything. And what’s up with measuring in grams?! I can’t think in grams unless I’m thinking in metals!

I keep waiting to be impressed by a H&S tea, but it hasn’t happened yet and this tea is no exception to that trend. It smelled a little caramel like, but I’m not really getting that in the taste. The beginning of the sips are perfumy and joined by a sharp bergamot taste. I’m left with a dry mouth. This tea is not balanced very well with sharp high notes.

I keep reading “Master Tea Blenders” on H&S’s bags and think, “Realy?! Says who?!”. Prove it.

Oh no! I’m so bummed! I guess the flavors don’t hold up well over time in this tea. I plowed through half the bag, decided to savor the rest and take my time with it to make it last, but that may have been the wrong choice. All I can taste is the oolong. So sad.

Having this again today with a little sugar. I can smell the chocolate as I go in for a sip and I can taste it laying low underneath the bergamot flavors. The bergamot is a little sharp and I do wish the chocolate was a little more intense and could match or nearly match the strength of the bergamot, but I still enjoy it anyways. The chocolate has a really natural flavor to it like other TWG teas I have tried, which is nice. At this point I’m thinking this isn’t a keep in stock tea, but that could change by the time I finish the bag.

This doesn’t taste like passion fruit! It tastes like a combination of muscat and apple gummies with a little flatness in there. Not what I was expecting or hoping for at all. H&S is really striking out with me!

I know I have had this before and I thought I had liked it more than I do now. When I opened the sample, the chocolate had a very chemical like smell. It is gone once steeped, but it still isn’t that great. It isn’t well rounded and leaves something to be desired. It’s like the chocolate doesn’t have the proper depth to it. The coconut is very light and lost in the nutty flavor. It tastes better with a little cream and sugar. The chocolate comes out better in the end of the sip, but I’m still feeling like the chocolate coconut combo could be done better.
