469 Tasting Notes
This came to me as a sample with an order. It is a larger than other samples I have had and will likely make two cups. It smells wonderful and caramel like. Very similar scent to Della Terra’s Pineapple Upsidedown tea. Once brewed, I think I can pick out some of the baked coffee cake goodness in the scent. The base of this tea is nice, but hides a little to let the caramel/brown sugar flavors dominate. If I sip it too fast I get a bitter taste on the back of my tongue. I’m used to coffee cake with lots of cinnamon and brown sugar on top. This is missing the cinnamon part, but has lots of brown sugar taste to it. I haven’t been overly impressed with David’s, but this tea strikes me as interesting enough and drinkable.
This tea has been kicking around in my cupboard for quite some time now. I know I drank it before, but don’t remember what I thought of it. So far it seems okay. The first few sips were nice enough and orangey, but the congestion in my head seems to have shifted and I can’t really taste it now. Looks like I have enough dry leaves to make one more cup worth, so maybe I’ll try it again when allergies have cleared.
Sipdown success!!! I like this tea. It smells like coconut, tastes like toasted coconut and has a creaminess behind each sip. It is a lovely tea! What I don’t get is the mistaken impression of chocolate, although adding some to this tea would be interested. I hate it when tea descriptions try to tell me what I might taste that isn’t in the tea especially when it comes to teas tasting like certain times of the day in various famous cities. Bah! Bah I say, bah! Anyway, aside from the disgruntled digression, I enjoy this tea and would consider buying it again.
Just read my first tasting note for this tea and I didn’t really like it much then! Funny how tastes and expectations can change over time.
Almost sip down on this one! I have one more serving left. I have enjoyed this tea in the past, but I won’t be sad to see it go and move on to other teas. I prefer drinking this with milk and sugar to give it a more decadent flavor. I read that it has chicory in it, but I have no idea what it looks or tastes like. I get mostly cardamon with some chocolate in the taste with the other flavors sort of tagging along. It is a nice warming cup, but not anything I’d buy again.

I’m usually not a huge fan of sleepy time teas. They often taste like a mouth full of chamomile fighting it out with some lavender. In this tea the mint runs the show with the lavender making an appearance towards the end and in the aftertaste. The chamomile mostly chills in the back which is fine by me. I’m not picking up on any rose, but I sweetened this with local honey to try to combat allergy season and the honey is pretty flavorful making it hard to taste past and get a true feel for the tea. It seems like a decent cup, but I’d like to try it again minus the honey. Hopefully the tea will relax me while I try to drift off to sleep and dream of what tea I will drink tomorrow!
This is a very buttery green. I really like that part. I taste the toasty walnuts and that part is really nice too. Other than those two features, I don’t get much else from this tea. It is pleasant enough, but dull. I’d love to have some other flavors in there to make it more interesting.

I have been eyeing all the tasting notes and buzz about Fauchon teas and this will be the first I have tried, so I’m extra excited about that aside from the fact that I love almond teas! I’m slightly stuffed up this morning, likely due to a fun allergy we call Cedar Fever here in Texas, so I’m sure this tea is a little more complex and bold that what I can pick out right now, but I can’t wait to try it.
First thing that I taste is a tiny bit of jasmine followed by an almond biscotti taste. I think I can pick out the rose and that mingles in the aftertaste a bit too. When the cup has cooled a little I get a blend of rose, jasmine and almond in the sip with almond showing most in the aftertaste. I’m finding the flavor present, but not super strong. I tried using less water on the resteep, but the flavor wasn’t any more intense. The second steep has more almond in the sip and reminds me of the powdered almond drink I’d find at Asian markets. I do love that stuff! Overall this is a really smooth tasting almond tea that I’m quite enjoying and it is leaving a good impression of the Fauchon brand!

Pancake breakfast, what a strange and intriguing flavor for a tea! I can taste the maple and the butter, but I’m not able to pick out the pancake part. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to let the other flavors let my imagination fill in the pancake part or it there is a component that I am missing. Either way, I like it and am glad I got to try it.

It has been a long time since I have had pineapple (and I have never had pineapple upside down cake), but I think I can identify the taste and I’m not tasting any in this tea. What I do taste is caramel, which is lovely, but not pineappley as I’d expect based on the name. The tea is nice, but not grabbing me like it has so many others.
