It had been at least a year since I last had this. Ran into it in my get rid of pile and decided in the spirit of the season to give it another go. Still not doing it for me. It’s okay, but the flavor just doesn’t deliver what the scent promises. Gave the rest to a friend who brought over an extra bag of David’s Pumpkin Chai, which still isn’t my perfect pumpkin tea, but it’s a lot closer than this one so it’s a good trade!

And yet you love Baby Spice! I have no idea the difference – I’ve never tried Baby Spice.

Dustin

Right?! I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed Baby Spice! This fits into my pattern with B&B where I like their tisanes, but not their teas.

This tea is so weird. I love trying weird teas, but this one isn’t for me. It is strange and savory with an herbal mix that I can’t place. Oregano? Thyme? It reminds me of pasta sauce with only a hint of sundried tomato. I’m having it over ice and I imagine having it hot would be more reminiscent of Italian cooking.

Having this iced tonight as the heat and smoke roll back in. It’s a nice mix of herbs. Licorice is the focus and it blends well with the mint and chamomile. I like it, but it seems pretty basic as far as my bar for ordering things from overseas goes. Guessing I can find something similar if I were to really miss it, but since it’s been in my cupboard for over a year at least, maybe two, I doubt that is likely to happen. I’ve been exhausted lately and having trouble getting to sleep at night. Maybe the chamomile in this will help if I don’t stay up all night listening to audio books by my new favorite narrator, Peter Kenney!

I’ve had this tea for years and had lost interest in it long ago. It smells fantastic and delivers a strongly flavored cup, but I had other teas I favored. Not sure why I picked it today, but I was looking for an option for an iced late tea and this was a good one to have picked! The rose is bright and has such an accurate rose petal flavor. It isn’t just the scent of the rose, but the hint of a bite that you experience when eating fresh rose petals. The apple is crisp, blending harmoniously with the rose and the whole thing tastes really good as a latte. This tea has caught my attention again!

I’ve been trying to acquaint myself better with this tea. I acquired a large bag of it in last year’s generous Theodor advent calendar. I have had it a few times and it wasn’t really something I was into. It’s not a bad tea, just not something I’d turn to or crave. I can’t recall the nuances of how I felt about it hot, but I’m having it cold steeped over night, on ice and with some cream. It is light and floral. Pleasant, but not something that grabs me. It’s smooth on the sip and has a tinge of that grassy bite in the finish, but I did steep the hell out of it. Not being a fan of champagne, I’m glad I didn’t pick up on the association that it is described as having. I’ll probably have several more cups of this, then it’s off to the trade pile. Maybe I’ll do a cupboard purge and start a traveling tea box.

This is my last cup of this… ever. I’m not sure how long it’s been sitting in my cupboard, over a year at the very least, and it still delivers a delicious cup. If anything has faded or gone stale I can’t tell. I get a nice blueberry lemon flavor. The lemon has more of a baked flavor than the blueberry and I swear there is a poppy seed note in here. Maybe that’s some of the breadiness being conveyed. I wish every cup of tea could be as fulfilling as this or several other Q2Ts. It’s a tranquil pleasant thing to return to this morning in the midst of trying to referee dueling elementary school zoom meetings, making sure that other zoom meetings are attended, figuring out where in a plethora of learning platforms the actual missing lessons are, where on the internet the proficiency testing is, filtering through 7-12 school related emails and apps pining me each day and trying to be productive and run a small business while being swallowed by overwhelming paralysis. Forget showering. I’d MUCH rather hide in a satisfying cup of tea. Go away 2020!

I wanted to log this tea earlier, but Steepster wouldn’t load it and gave me an error page. :/ It was a sipdown. I enjoyed my cup and the resteep, but don’t feel compelled to buy this tea again. I really wanted to love AU teas, but I’m just not falling for them, sadly.

VariaTEA

I had the same experience with AU. The blends all seem so unique but none stand out as that great to me.

OMGsrsly

I really like a couple of the herbal blends, but not enough to order again! Although, I think now they’re not all in tins so maybe customs wouldn’t have a fit about the metal in the package…

Dustin

They do come in bags now and in sample sizes. I think I ordered around 20 different blends and none of them were ones I need to keep in stock.

Sipdown! This is a mixed feelings sipdown. I like this tea, but I got a less than usually delicious cup out of it. I’m going to guess it’s a user error and hope that the rest of my day isn’t plagued by other user errors, but it might just be one of those days.
I’ll miss this tea and it’s caramel rice flavors and I might order more someday, but I’m glad to have the tiny bit of space in my cupboard too.

Had the craving for a peach tea this morning. Yesterday it was dark berries. I think this is the only peach tea I currently have and I usually drink it cold steeped in the summer. With the weather cooling, I reluctantly steeped it hot. It’s not the same. It’s good, but there is a hint of bitter and the brightness of the peach seemed muted. I feel like I’m wasting it by drinking it this way. Cold steeped only from here on out!

drank Cool Eucalyptus by DAVIDsTEA

I bought this tea because it sounded weird. It is indeed quite weird. Maybe a little too so. I don’t think I’ve ever had a tea with eucalyptus in it, so my curiosity was peaked enough that I neglected to notice hibiscus in the ingredients. Surprisingly, the hib isn’t overwhelming! The cool euc mix is strange and a hard taste for me to acquire. I chose it today because my lungs have been feeling restricted and I thought it might help open them up on top of my inhaler. Not sure it’s doing the trick, but it was a high bar in the first place. I’d like to try this cold steeped sometime.

Even the air out here in Idaho is terrible, so I definitely feel for all my BA friends. Smoke is one of my migraine triggers and I’ve had terrible migraines for weeks, I’m hoping a home air filter will help some. Please take care out there!

Dustin

Thanks! The air has finally cleared up in the past few days (after that weird apocalyptic orange day) and it’s amazing being able to go outside to clear skies. Sorry all the smoke has headed your way! Hope the migraines stay away. We bought a third air filter for the house and that has helped a ton.

Mastress Alita

I’m trying to get a small air filter but they are a hot ticket item right now! I hope it helps. An evacuation was just issued about 20 minutes away from the town I live in, so we have plenty of our own smoke to contend with!

Profile

Bio

My name is Dustin and I like tea.

I’m an added flavor kind of tea fan, but have had a growing appreciation for plain. I want my tea to remind me of cookies and cakes with coconut and almond slices with a hint of chocolate drizzled on top. I want dancing ponies and flying monkeys shooting off fireworks! And no hibiscus. Hibiscus is the devil.
