13 Tasting Notes

English Breakfast from Twinings
73

This is a nice tea, strong and full-bodied.

I usually add a bit of honey to it, for taste. With the honey it is sweet, and the honey brings out the flavor of the tea.

Overall nice, but not my favorite.

Ceylon Orange Pekoe from Twinings
78

This tea is pretty good.

The tea smells nice, sweet. The taste is pretty good as well, with lightly floral notes and a kick of astringency in the aftertaste.

It is a pretty good tea overall, satisfying.

Pure Mint from Twinings

This tea is fantastic!

It has a wonderful scent of mint, even before you steep it. The taste is nice, minty and refreshing. It has sort of a cooling effect with a minty aftertaste. There is no bitterness in this cup, and I doubt any would come out with longer steeping.

Absolutely perfect. :)

Blackcurrant Breeze from Twinings
97

This is a very nice tea.

The scent of the tea nice and fruity, kind of like fine grapes. The taste is sweet, with a great taste of fruit. There is almost no aftertaste, but what little it does have is lightly fruity without even a hint of astringency.

This tea is fantastic, I highly recommend it. :)

Pure Camomile from Twinings
49

This is a fair tisane.

I don’t particularly care for chamomile in the first place, so I’m probably a bit biased. The flavor is lightly sweet, but it kinda tastes a bit like how yard trimmings smell. I’m not fond of it but I’m sure there are some that are.

I probably will never buy again, but overall it is not horrible.

China Oolong from Twinings
65

This is okay as far as bagged oolong teas go.

The taste is slightly sweet with a bit of astringency. The aftertaste is a little bitter, but overall it is average for an oolong in a bag. Convenient for a car ride :)
If you want a better oolong though, the best are always loose leaf. :)

Pure Rooibos from Twinings of London
93

This is a wonderful tea (tisane if you want to get technical).

The flavor is woody (in a good way :) ) with a nice cooling and calming effect. The aftertaste is again woody, but it stays a moment in your mouth. This is a nice soothing cup of tea.

Gunpowder Green Tea from Twinings
96

Twinings comes through for me again.

The tea can be strong or delicate depending on how long you steep it. The taste is slightly grassy with nice smokey undertones. The aftertaste is smokey, but not enough to be overwhelming.

I recommend this tea. :)

Red Zinger from Celestial Seasonings

I absolutely love this infusion!

The taste is sweet and tart, an excellent taste for a blend with hibiscus. for a bagged tea it is beyond perfect.

I recommend this tea to any who would have it. :)

Earl Grey (loose leaf) from Twinings
91

This is a fine tea from Twinings.

The tea is excellent. It has the nice taste of bergamot without being too overpowering. This tea is splendid for any occasion, and I drink plenty of it. Great plain, though I add milk from time to time.

I would heartily recommend this tea to anyone, and have; though most of my family isn’t too keen on tea. ;)

Darjeeling (loose leaf) from Twinings
57

I have definitely had better tea.

I bought this tea because I had almost never been let down by Twinings; this was, however, a little disappointing.

The taste is strange, not at all what Darjeeling should taste like. I have had several cups, but none tasted just right.
The tea tastes fairly bitter and leaves a strange aftertaste in your mouth.

EDIT: I have found that combining this tea with Earl Grey by Twinings (3 parts Darjeeling to 2 parts Earl Grey) makes a wonderful tea, so I’m increasing the rating from 40
