6 Tasting Notes

Strawberry Shortcake from DAVIDsTEA
77

Had this as an iced latte last week. Thanks for the DAVIDsTEA staff who gave this to me on the house, you rock!

I found it tart, but maybe there was not enough agave nectar to my taste. It wasn’t a bad thing though, you have your bitter strawberries and your sweet ones! Very refreshing. Think I will try this warm sometime.

Chocolate Orange (Oh Christmas Treat) from DAVIDsTEA

Okay, I realized I had some of this stuff at home from my Christmas Collection gift set, so I decided to give it another try.

I think I found the secret to make this tea work for me – milk! I found the flavour was much more balanced this time around, and made for a much more enjoyable tea experience. I re-adjusted my rating for this: it takes a bit more effort but it definitely pays off when it comes to flavour, lots of sweet chocolatey-orange taste.

I’m about to go for a resteep and I’ll see how it holds up. I still have about three or four cup fulls worth of tea leaves left, then I’ll decide whether to add this to my collection or not. (:

Sleigh Ride from DAVIDsTEA

I don’t mind hibiscus so this tea gets a thumbs up from me! I find I can get two steeps out of one serving in my travel mug (4 tsps) so that’s a great bonus. Just the right amount of tart. Haven’t tried it iced, anyone recommend it?

Kanpe Tea from DAVIDsTEA

Delish! This one was suggested to me because they were out of Goji Pop (which I STILL haven’t tried). Nice and fruity with a cinnamon kick, and all for a good cause! This is my next buy, for sure.

Chocolatey Chai from President's Choice

This was my go-to tea when I lived in St. Pierre! A mellow taste with a bit of spice, and a wonderful chocolatey scent. I kept the steep time short – I found that the taste got murky the longer you steeped it.

Chocolate Orange (Oh Christmas Treat) from DAVIDsTEA

I only had this as a hot take-out tea when stopping by DAVIDsTEA today. Someone on staff recommended it to me (they had just restocked it), and being a fan of Terry’s Chocolate Orange I had to try.

I was a bit disappointed, to be honest! I had it with one pump of agave. The first few sips were delicious, full of chocolate, but about halfway through the cup it wore off and became bland. Maybe I let it oversteep?

I do love chocolate teas however, so it’s likely I’ll try again.
