If you are looking for an Irish breakfast blend that is brisk and full-bodied, Upton’s River Shannon can be hard to beat. While I’ve tried a number of others, I keep returning to River Shannon as it makes a sweetly fragrant cup to start the day.

My wife and I got this tea on a whim and it has become our favorite Hanrey & Sons blend. The taste of fragrant berries and cream just perk you up with the first sip. Most enjoyable.
We buy Ahmad’s Aromatic Earl Grey in a 500 gm tin as it’s reasonably priced ($9.00) and is quite OK on its own. We also find this blend useful for brightening up other black teas with a dash of bergamot.

I love a nice full-flavored cuppa in the morning and this fits the bills nicely. There is a hint of smokiness that adds to its appeal. With some milk and sugar its gets me going for the day.
I ordered this as a change from Earl Grey and it has become one of my favorites. Bright as a sunny day! Nice when I want something light and refreshing. With a bit of sugar or sweetener it readily substitutes for desert after dinner.
