24 Tasting Notes

Houjicha Gold (Roasted Bancha) from Den's Tea
82
Moroccan Mint from The Republic of Tea
97

Republic of Tea’s version stands out from the rest, because they use peppermint instead of spearmint. I wager you’ll not find a tastier mint tea outside Morocco.

Candy Cane from Adagio Teas
90

As sweet and minty as its label suggests, it’s one of Adagio’s best Christmas blends.

English Breakfast (High Grown) from Teavana
90
Earl Grey Creme from Teavana
82
Citron Sonata Green Tea from Teavana
75
Almond Biscotti from Teavana
81
Sweet Oolong Revolution from Teavana
95

Sadly, Teavana has discontinued this tasty blend, so snatch up as many as you can find! Cardamom and candied mango reign supreme, so easy on the sweetener!

Snow Geisha from Teavana
85

This geisha packs a punch! I find the brew tastier over ice.

Pumpkin Spice Chai from Twinings
75
MateVana from Teavana
85
Taj Mahal from Brooke Bond
95
Matcha Kaze from Den's Tea
95
Genmaicha Extra Green from Den's Tea
65
Sleepytime from Celestial Seasonings
85
Youthberry Wild Orange Blossom Tea Blend from Teavana
95
Cacao Mint Black from Teavana
97

Minty tea drinkers, rejoice! This tea is like having a York Peppermint Pattie in a cup; I drink this every winter, especially at Christmastime!

Irish Breakfast from Teavana
80
Earl Grey Bravo from Adagio Teas
90
Blackberry Sage from The Republic of Tea
90

Fantastic to smell as it is to drink, this tea is berry nice. ;) Lots o’ dried blackberries mixed in, too.

Lapsang Souchong from The Republic of Tea
95

Perfect for the fall and winter months, this tea brings the campfire to your cup!

Maharaja Chai Oolong from Teavana
90
Pumpkin Spice from The Republic of Tea
85

Enjoyable, but a wee bit heavy on the nutmeg. Careful not to over-sweeten!

Samurai Chai Mate & White Ayurvedic Chai Blend from Teavana

Profile

Bio

I’m a big fan of spicy teas, particularly masala chai. Throw in a bag of Deep’s ‘Hot Mix’ for a real Indian treat!
Japanese tea ceremony (Chanoyu) has captivated my interests for the last several years. Nothing like a wabi-sabi chawan filled with bright, frothy-green matcha!
I enjoy collecting Asian tea wares…
You can never have enough tetsubins.
Yemane Seigan is my favorite Hagi potter.
I prefer loose leaf over bagged tea.
BBC programming and black tea make rainy evenings even better.
One of my favorite mugs bares the Monty Python quote, “Make tea, not war.”
Everyone should have a Disappearing TARDIS mug.
I’ve made an effort to spot every gaiwan in a Shaw Bros. flick…
You can never have enough rock cane sugar.
I avoid fishy Pu’er tea like the plague! As Paul Hogan once eloquently said, “Well, you can live on it, but it tastes like sh*t.”
