3 Tasting Notes
I just got this in the mail today and I have to try it right away. I’ve been so excited ever since I saw the description. It seemed like it would be the exact fall tea I’ve been looking for.
Aroma – holy mackerel, this smells amazing. Exactly like fall. First sip – straight, no sweetener or anything. So good. Exactly what I was hoping for. There’s something that’s not quite there; I don’t know exactly what it is. The apple is a little light – maybe that’s what it is. I have some apple, maybe I’ll see if iI can step it up a bit.
I added a little honey – even better. I still may add a bit of the straight apple to see if I can up that flavor a bit, but this is great. Exactly what I’ve been looking for in a fall tea.

The pineapple scent was very strong, so I was expecting the flavor to be stronger. I liked this, though I think it’s more spring/summer than fall, which we’re getting into.
As a note; I’m having trouble adjusting my rates on the iPad. I may have to wait format until,I’m on the computer. It was about 200 degrees for 3 minutes.
2nd steeping – oddly the pineapple flavor is a lot stronger with this steep than the first. Maybe I steeped it too long? I added some milk, but it didn’t seem to tone it down a lot. It’s certainly not bad, but I don’t think I’d order any of it.
Preparation
I got this one as a sample from David’s. The chocolate/cocoa scent is extremely strong. Almost off-putting it’s so strong, but the flavor was much less so. The star anise wasn’t very strong, either, for which I was grateful. I liked it a lot more than I was afraid I would. I don’t think I would buy it in bulk, but I’m glad to have tasted it.
