Just picked this one up yesterday on the suggestion of the girl in the store. I told her I wanted a fruity mate that would be good hot or cold, and she suggested this one.
The smell is incredible. Very tart smelling, with a strong lemony scent.
Steeped it hot, and it definitely was tart! I may try it again in the future with less leaf but I’d always found Teavana’s teas to need about a 1/2 tsp more than suggested (at least). As it was, I added some sugar (at the office without agave) and it was nice. Kind of reminded me of a tastier NeoCitran? That kind of lemony flavour, with raspberry notes. Not bad, but probably won’t re-buy.

I tried this one a couple of times, hoping I’d end up liking it. I’ve been looking for a nice apple tea (although I think what I really want is Beaver Tails apple cider and trying to convince myself that tea will do) and bought this on sale. Unfortunately, the spice taste is waaay too strong. It barely tastes like apple It’s all the spices, with a ton of cinnamon and a slight tartness that I’m assuming is what little apple flavour there is coming through. Ugh. Now I have to find something to do with the rest of the box I bought.
Lately I’ve been really enjoying all the pu’erhs I’ve tried, so I was excited for this one. It’s nice and smooth but I don’t really get any particular distinct taste from it. I guess it most closely resembles a Terry’s Chocolate Orange? That said, I do enjoy it but doubt I’ll be running out to buy more after I finish this pack off.
This is quite nice. I’d definitely like to try it over ice, as it was a little sickly sweet tasting while super hot. But once I’d let it cool down some, it had a nice fruity, citrusy taste that was neither overbearingly sweet nor tart (which, given the fruits in it, could have easily happened). The mate gives it a nice kick and helped me to actually focus in my morning classes on what SHOULD BE a holiday Monday.
Got this one as a soy latte to go while on an Easter/tax refund/pre-exam mate stock up/shopping spree with my best tea buddy. I’d had it once before (I think as a sample? Who knows) and remembered really liking the sweetness. Well, certainly didn’t disappoint today! It was nice a sweet, but still smooth and not overpowering and was perfect to sip on while walking downtown on one of the first nice Sundays Halifax has seen this year. Almost convinced me to turn around and buy 25g of it to take home with me. Next time!
Let me preface by saying that I’ve been reeeaaaalllyyy hesitant to actually buy some of this, since I already have creme caramel rooibos and, although I do like it, it isn’t one of my absolute favourite teas (I also have a fairly expansive collection and always feel just a tad guilty whenever I buy a new one).
But wow! I’m so glad that I bought this one. It really does taste like salted caramel. It’s sweet and smooth with just a little bit of the salty taste noticeable at the end. And all without overpowering the black tea flavour!
I always make my first cup of any new tea without milk or sweetener, but this is one I think I’ll continue drinking on its own. MAYBE I’ll try it as a latte, but certainly not with the vanilla almond milk I use for most of them. It really doesn’t need any other flavours to make it amazing.
Amazing! Decided to try mixing these two on a total whim and ended up loving it! All the creamy wonderful-ness of the CoEG, with a sweet caramel undertone. Definitely one I’ll make again!
Still delicious, but made the mistake of leaving the leaves in my travel mug while drinking this in class. It was fairly over-steeped and some of the sweet notes of the caramel and toffee were overwhelmed by the strong pu-erh taste. Still a pleasant cup of tea, but nowhere near as good as it’s been all the other times I’ve made it.
This tea is lovely. The taste is mild and not overpoweringly vanilla or hazelnut. Just a smooth undertone that lets the taste of the black tea shine through. Probably would have been better if I was drinking it with food and not just on its own.
This tea is wonderful. The smell had all of my roommates jealous of it, and the taste matches. Smooth, rich tasting and pleasantly (though not overpoweringly) sweet. A great dessert tea to enjoy on a rainy afternoon.

This tea smells absolutely incredible! Unfortunately, whenever I’ve made it it comes out fairly bland and weak. Maybe I’ll make some pot-pourri with it.
Absolutely love this tea! It’s not as overpoweringly sweet as I find a lot of the David’s ‘cake’ teas can be, but still tastes pleasantly like a red velvet cake!
