Let the eating, I mean grading, begin!!

I knew we were going to have delicious sweet things, so I brought a little tin of this in, along with some half and half. I walked in with my cookies, but another coworker already had CINNAMON BUNS out!!! Good, sticky, walnut topped cinnamon buns from a little neighborhood bakery. YES!

I quickly put my kettle on and gosh, this tea is REALLY good with cinnamon buns. The natural vanilla and good tea is something special, but does not complete with the cinnamon bun. Pure indulgent synergy is going on :) Yum, yum, yum. I’m soooo glad I took this in today.

I need to try this, you haven’t steered me wrong yet.

Dan

How long did you keep the vanilla and the assam together before you tried it?

JacquelineM

Three weeks :) Use an assam you like but that isn’t stellar (as an example, don’t use Mountain Malt, but maybe use that Assam by Mark T. Wendell that you get at your health food store :) I used a good buy not great Assam and the vanilla smoothed out all of the rough edges to make it wonderful!!!

Rabs

I adore the phrase “pure indulgent synergy.” :)

I also hope that today goes quickly for you, but not too quick while you’ve got yummy food and tea nearby! ;)

Stephanie

I love to cook, bake, read, paint, knit, do needlework, and garden. I need my coffee, but I LOVE my tea. I work at an Art School, and attend a large public university doing post-bac work (my BA is in English). I’m interested in the liminal spaces between art and craft, the academic and the practical, the individual and community, and the old and the new. I’m currently exploring these ideas through the disciplines of education, literature, history, and psychology.

I enjoy writing tasting notes, but have decided not to numerically rate teas as of 9/14/10. For an explanation, see my looooong tasting note about Mountain Malt from the Simple Leaf.

My favorites:
Chinese black teas
A good “milk and sugar” English style black
Earl Grey (classic, and in all variations!)
Vanilla teas (classic, and in all variations!)
Jasmine, Rose, Violet and other froofy, flowery teas!
An Occasional Oolong
Flavored Rooibos
Herbal Tisanes
