Birthday Cake from DAVIDsTEA
97

Backlog.

I’m sorry, I kind of can’t get over this tea. I’ve been savoring my DAVIDs swap samples as treats for when I get home from work. I had the most AMAZING tea time last night, I ran an incredible bath with a bath melt from Moon Harvest that looked like a cupcake and smelled like lilacs and hyacinths. I had my birthday cake tea, and the new issue of Cosmo. ultimate relaxing.

On to the tea…I’ve reviewed it before so I really just wanted to write it a love letter on here. It’s sweet and vanilla-y and rich and creamy but I can still tell it’s a rooibos tea and the sprinkles are so cute I can barely handle it.

This gives me a whole new idea of “dessert teas”. This actually satisfied me as a dessert after dinner and it tastes so much like it’s bad for me. Are all DAVIDs teas like this?? Am I missing out as much as I think I am??

I am not the biggest fan of dessert teas, but I might just have to try this one after reading your posts!

I only had one DAVIDsTEA rooibos blend and I was instantly hooked… All I can compare it to is comfort of pure and gentle love, sleeping on your mommy’s bosom as a child, bathing in cinnamon pudding… :D I looked at their other blends and they all look to me like very comforting and relaxing teas…

i’m at the point where i kinda have too many of the davidstea rooibos blends! and even though they kinda all seem similar at this point. i do still like them. creme caramel is my favorite. that and mint chocolate. which i occasionally add more mint to. (and more chocolate hah.)

(deep dark confession… i actually picked much of the sprinkles out of the birthday cake blend. blasphemous to a fan of the tea i’m sure! eek!)

Bio

Born and raised in Connecticut, went to college in Vermont, and moved back to work after a year of service.

I love sweet, decadent, desserty teas the most but I also appreciate a strong refreshing cup of green or white tea. I recently started a matcha smoothie morning, sometimes mate or black tea, then black tea and rooibos throughout the day, and whatever my little heart desires most when I get home from work!

I’m obsessed with Della Terra, DAVIDs, and 52teas because they have the best dessert teas but also have a selection of some more straight things too. Recently tried Simpson and Vail and LOVE them too!!

I don’t have a rating system, I just kind of guess. I think I should make a rating system…

85-100 I want this in my cupboard always
75-85 I like it but I’m not rushing out to buy more immediately
60-75 Probably not going to want more than the sample
40-60 I don’t like this tea, I wouldn’t recommend it, and I won’t drink it again
0-40 This wasn’t even worth the sip.

Ok let’s try that for a bit now.
