drank Red Hot Cinnamon Chai by 52teas
160 tasting notes

Thanks The DJBooth for sending this one my way. I’m not a huge chai drinker but I’m trying to get a taste for the companies that I see the most on here, so I wanted to try a 52teas blend. I like this, it’s a good morning tea for me, but I expected a bit more cinnamon. It smells like a red hot when it’s brewed, but tastes like a basic chai. I like it a lot, I just wouldn’t call it “red hot cinnamon”.

Backlogging a bit. I like this but I don’t love it, so it’s somewhat of a bummer that I accidentally ordered an extra 2oz bag of it. It’s very true to it’s name, you can taste and smell both the fruity zing of the raspberry and the rich chocolate. There’s a chocolate shop back where I grew up called Munson’s and my favorite thing from them is their milk chocolate raspberry creams. I think this is actually fairly similar, but it’s more of a dark chocolate flavor. I’ll drink it and I’ll enjoy it, but there are other teas I enjoy more.

I was just looking through my cupboard and realized I hadn’t logged this yet. I’ve had it a couple times and its definitely a taste that has to grow on me. It tastes a bit like it’s spiked to me and not much at all like chocolate. I did not like the smell or taste at first, but the more times I sip it the better I like it. I’m not going to rate it until I have a cup with me while I’m writing.

drank Banana Pancakes by Compass Teas

I was so excited to try this today. The dry leaves smell like a banana cream pie, but the fragrance definitely lessens once brewed. I was afraid that would mean there wasn’t much flavor, but luckily I was wrong. It’s not a strong flavor, more like someone dipped dried bananas in your Assam tea for a bit…not that anyone does that. It’s a deliciously subtle flavor with a kick of caffeine, definitely going to drink it every morning during the work week. I got it during their 50% off Cyber Sale, I think it’s regular price now, but I’d say it’s worth it!

Just logging that I’m drinking it…at the bottom of the cup right now and I definitely feel the spice!! Warming, especially good for Vermont winters :)

I had this baby this morning on my way into work and ooooh it’s so yummy! I love that the strawberry really stands out in it, the chocolate is just enough that you taste it’s there but is isn’t dominant. Tasty treat!!

Brought some of this to my meeting this morning and it really helped me sit through it. Not that I don’t like the Wednesday meeting but when it goes over I get antsy. This has the perfect amount of pumpkin pie spice without overtaking the taste of the tea. And again…the novelty of little cute shaped sprinkles in my tea is my weakness.

Yum yum yum! So glad to be sitting at my desk with this lovely cup of heaven right now. It smells very much like it’s name, it’s caramel but with a mix of creaminess so it’s not the sticky sweet smell that accompanies caramel square candies. I’m drinking it now that it’s cooled down because I feel the flavor is stronger and more detectable when it’s a little cooler. It doesn’t taste much like any caramel I’ve had before but I still adore it, it’s a slightly sweet, rich, creamy, taste and feel. It’s cozy tasting, I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Eight Candles is the same tea but with marshmallow I believe and I thought that when drinking that I tasted more of the marshmallow but it is SO similar to this that I guess it’s Della Terra’s version of caramel that comes through in both. Either way, I really really love it and am glad that I have it with me today.

drank Winter Nog by Della Terra Teas

I have a slight obsession with this tea for many reasons. And I had a cup in bed last night, which is why I’m posting my love for it.

1. The snowflake sprinkles are too cute. Like I’ve said, I have a weakness for the cute factor in teas.

2. It smells- and tastes- like vanilla frosting. Not the sticky sweet that hurts your stomach and your teeth though, like an indulgence that you can’t get enough of and don’t have to!

3. It’s caffeine free and I can’t taste the “medicinal” flavor that rooibos can often have. I can drink this in bed while I obsess over the 25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family and not worry that my heart will race, I won’t be able to sleep, or that it will upset my stomach if it’s empty.

4. Rooibos is known for settling an upset stomach and is recommended for after meals to aid digestion…what better way to aid digestion than an amazing DESSERT flavored tea? It’s like getting 2 for 1, dessert and your food settled…and no calories.

I am now prompted to go order 4 more ounces of it while it’s on sale.

I love sweet, decadent, desserty teas the most but I also appreciate a strong refreshing cup of green or white tea. I recently started a matcha smoothie morning, sometimes mate or black tea, then black tea and rooibos throughout the day, and whatever my little heart desires most when I get home from work!

I don’t have a rating system, I just kind of guess. I think I should make a rating system…

85-100 I want this in my cupboard always
75-85 I like it but I’m not rushing out to buy more immediately
60-75 Probably not going to want more than the sample
40-60 I don’t like this tea, I wouldn’t recommend it, and I won’t drink it again
0-40 This wasn’t even worth the sip.

Ok let’s try that for a bit now.
