drank Red Velvet Cake by DAVIDsTEA

Just a disclaimer: I’ve never eaten red velvet cake – I think it’s just not really a Canadian thing. So I have no way of judging how ‘authentic’ the flavour is beyond that it tastes like cake.

It’s certainly a fun-looking tea with coloured sprinkles and white chocolate chips (I’m a sucker for anything white chocolate). The flavour is distinctly cakey initially but after that initial burst of flavour it seems to fade off into…nothing? That might just be because I need to steep it longer. The sugar sprinkles and chocolate give the tea just the right amount of sweetness that I wouldn’t consider adding any extra honey or sugar. Definitely trying a longer steep next time and I’ll see how well it goes with milk.

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Bio

I’m a university student in her twenties who’s currently working her way toward a Bachelor of Natural Resource Science degree. I love both science and science-fiction and I’m a history nut on top of that. Maybe I should just call myself a nerd and leave it there. ;)

I’ve been drinking tea since I was young but it’s only in the past couple years that I’ve become interested in the good-quality stuff.
