drank Acai Green by The Republic of Tea
1908 tasting notes

The Great Canadian Teabox arrive at my doorstep so now I’m spoiled for choice when it comes to new teas to try. My strainer was in the dishwasher so I picked this one for convenience as it’s in bagged form.

As soon as I added the water the tea turned a tell-tale red – I suppose it was too much to hope that there wouldn’t be hibiscus in a relatively cheap blend like this. I will say that the hibiscus wasn’t overpowering and I could can taste a little bit of acai berry flavour underneath. But I’m so sick of companies using hibiscus as a cheap and easy facsimile for any tart-flavoured fruit in their teas. Big thumbs down.

Bio

I’m a university student in her twenties who’s currently working her way toward a Bachelor of Natural Resource Science degree. I love both science and science-fiction and I’m a history nut on top of that. Maybe I should just call myself a nerd and leave it there. ;)

I’ve been drinking tea since I was young but it’s only in the past couple years that I’ve become interested in the good-quality stuff.
