This tea is pretty much dessert in a mug.
After searching the highest-rated teas on Steepster, this one came out on top! I’ve had matcha before, but sometimes I’m just not feeling it and the grassiness of the flavour puts me off. So I saw Caramel Matcha and thought, ‘…matcha? With caramel? Is that a good combination?!…’ But everyone else was leaving rave reviews so I thought, why not give it a chance?

It arrived very quickly, I opened the bag, and was hit immediately with the strong smell.
Caramel. Like a giant vat of liquid caramel.
This stuff is AMAZING! I thought the matcha flavour would still be quite strong, but I would say the caramel taste slightly trumps it. It’s just so caramel-y! Not butterscotch, but caramel. Mmmmm. I’ve had Davids Caramel Spice, and it was dreadful. This is so delicious! It’s wonderfully creamy, even with just a touch of milk and no sugar. I don’t use that much matcha powder, and it is still very flavourful (I’ll probably get about 50 teapots worth from a 30g bag, making it very affordable). Ok, time to stop ranting and go make another pot :)
