This is a very straightforward black tea. Nothing to write home about. However, it smells wonderful before steeping - very rich and fruity (like raspberries). After the steep, the scent is much milder. It reminds me a lot of sweet oranges, which is nice. This fruitiness subtly carries over into the undertones and aftertaste of this tea…and I do mean subtly. Overall, this tea is ok as a light compliment to breakfast. I wouldn’t reach for it any other time though.

Wow…all I can say is “Yum”.
This tea boasts a satisfyingly complex, yet consistent flavor profile. The first few sips are always mellow… a familiar black tea. From there, it grows more robust and earthy…all while somehow retaining those light undertones. I think the best thing about this tea is the sublimely sweet aftertaste, which always seems to bring cream and honey to mind. Seriously, it’s a real treat.

drank Jasmine Green Tea by Ito En

As far as bottled teas go, this is by far my favorite. It’s absolutely delicious and refreshing when served ice cold. Although it’s little expensive, I always keep a couple in the fridge at work for convenience. In my opinion, this tea tastes exactly as it smells (easiest way to describe it); the jasmine is very prominent with almost a nectar-like sweetness. I only start to pick up on the green tea aspect when the beverage starts to warm up.

While this tea can’t really compete with the loose leaf variety, I would definitely recommend picking up a bottle or two if you can find it.
