31 Tasting Notes
I’m fan of both Twinings and green teas. Also I love pineapple and grapefruit, so this was perfect tea for me. I love the smell of tea bags. I accidentally steeped this tea bit longer. The smell is very pleasant. There is no bitterness in tea even with longer steep time. This actually tastes very sweet and smooth, not stinging like some teas. Because there is no bitterness, you can drink this very fast.
There was 2 bags of this tea in my Twinings pineapple&grapefruit green tea box along with useless coupon. I have never before seen Twinings everyday tea, nor tasted it. Even this green tea box was new to me, found it from shop specialized to selling dried fruits, nuts, organic foods, teas and so on. You don’t find this from market.
So to the review! Lipton yellow label, yes, that is what this tastes like. I hate yellow label, and I haven’t tasted it for months, but that taste still haunts me. This is only slightly better than yellow label, this taste is more light and smooth, not that kind of sting like yellow label. I don’t like the aftertaste that tastes in your mouth for minutes.
I don’t recommend this tea for anyone, and I would not EVER buy this tea. Sorry if this review is bit harsh, but this tea reminds me too much of Yellow label. Why Twinings? Just why???
I have this same tea filter, but its made by Teeli. It looks 100% like this. I bought it at 7,59€ from local internet store about year ago, and its still good.
I love this, its easy to wash, you can even but it in dishwasher. It fits perfectly in any cup, and gives lot of free space for tea leaves. And when you want to reuse the tea leaves, just lift the filter and put the cap under it, and leave it there. It doesn’t leak.
This has to be steeped carefully: at 95 degrees Celsius, for 1 minute (absolutely no longer).
The smell is very flowery and pleasant, the color is dark yellow/orange. This feels very soft in mouth, somewhat different feeling from black or green teas. Taste is very light, bit bitterness at aftertaste. This doesn’t taste anything at first, the taste comes slowly. Not good, but neither bad, average tea.
I’m surprised that this tea isn’t added here. Not even the company was here. Its black tea spiced with orange.
This isn’t actually very good, tastes cheap and industrial. It still is very refreshing tea. Pleasant smell, moderate bitterness. Maybe could work with less steep time.
This is definitely high quality green tea. Low steep temperature makes preparing hard and you can easily kill the taste with too hot water. This tastes like, green tea, with hint of black tea from same area, reminds me of Keemun Superfine black tea, but very remotely. Surely this could be very good tea, if water temperature is just right: 70 degrees Celsius
I got this tea as Christmas present. It isn’t something you can find from supermarket, its from small gift shop. And tea company which made this is small one too, not very far from my place. There was no info how hot the water should be, but even boiling water doesn’t make this too bitter or strong. I didn’t expect whole leaves, but this has them too!
Well, this is green tea alright, very dark too. The color is brownish green. Smell is unique combination of the ingredients. There is slight bitterness in taste. The taste is very pleasant, not too strong, or too weak. I can taste the white chocolate too, even though cherry is dominating taste.
I can recommend this to anyone, if you can find it that is :D
I’m weird person, I like this tea. Smell is heavenly, I love Lemon! This reminds me of summer so much.
Taste is very light, lemon doesn’t jump first like bergamot in Earl Grey. Its delayed. Lemon kinda counters the bitterness. You have to drink this slowly, and enjoy its fresh lemon. You get the “yuck!” feeling if you drink it too fast.
