345 Tasting Notes
I had to use cheese cloth and some plastic to tie it up to steep the tea as I lost the strainer to the pitcher. I don’t know if it altered the taste or not but grandma says it doesn’t.
time for a full review:
when I smell the leaves dry, it smells musty and nice
when I smell the leaves wet, it smells smoky
when I smell the brewed tea, it smells smoky and spicy.
when I taste the brewed tea, it tastes quite smoky and very spicy.
this tea has a peachy after taste
many thanks to mrmopar for this awesome tea :)
Flavors: Musty, Peach, Smoke, Spicy
a good tea. however don’t overstep as it can taste sour/bitter
when I smell the leaves, it smells like smoke, leather and peppery
when I smell the brewed leaves, it smells like leather and pepper
when I smell the brewed tea, it smells like mild pepper and strong leather
the same with when I taste it.
thus because it can get bitter I score it a 90. I don’t recommend it because it has a very rough taste
Flavors: Leather, Pepper, Smoke
so I have not had this tea for a while :) so I picked up a tin at “Starskys” (a polish grocery store)
it’s still a great tea but can get kind of bitter if over steeped like I accidently did with my strainer pitcher. so im deducting 10 points.
100 —> 90
so i have been drinking this tea lately and it is still awesome! :D
still tastes peppery and is really yummy. i think people should buy a few of these when/if they can. im buying another one soon. when the cake gets thin enough you can just tear a few small chunks off and enjoy the tea ;)
Flavors: Black Pepper, Pepper
I have to say this tea has a nice taste :) tastes like oats. also when I smell it, it smells like fancy soap. when I smell the brewed leaves it smells like that too. this tea is ok to me however I had better oolong tea
thanks to paola for this tea :)
