43 Tasting Notes
Sample. I was worried this would be bitter as grapefruit flavored things often are. But nope, not in the slightest. I like how Stacy adds just enough flavor to detect but not so much that it drowns out the tea itself’s flavor. Very light and delicate.
Sample. I’m sorry I didn’t write this note earlier or I would have been able to add more detail. The three flavors were perfectly balanced…present yet not overpowering. Yummo indeed.
I am not picking up much strawberry in this, but…rose? A bit of lavender? Yes, it is very floral and delicate to me and it is very lovely.
This was a sample that came with my first Butiki order. :)
This is momo’s leftover sample. I downed three cups and burned my tongue. Worth it.
This is my second genmaicha experience, the first one being 52tea’s s’mores genmaicha. I think I love them. It’s like…hot liquid rice crispie treats.
I’m not sure if I should be even rating this as this is my first taste of pu-erh. Anyway, to be blunt, it smells and tastes like dead fish. Maybe it will grow on me? Thanks for the experience Red Leaf, but I’m sticking to your epic matcha. haha.
I’m always a big fan of vanilla rooibos. This one is creamy and mellow, maybe a touch of smoke in there. And since I got it at Pike Place, drinking this always brings me back there. :) I’ll probably be resteeping a couple times on this wet cloudy night after all this springtime storming.
I splurged a little on my first 52teas purchase. I have been drooling over his creations for a couple of years now and they are better than I could have imagined! This one tastes and smells exactly like pina colada. Sweet yet creamy. The flavor isn’t overpowering and blends with the honeybush very well. I resteeped the crap out of it in my infuser thermos at work and the flavor just never dies!
I’m not sure what to think of this yet. The smell of it is so strong that my clothes even smelled like it after the car ride home. It was quite pleasant at first, but then it just got stuck in my nose to the point that it’s sickening.
The tea itself isn’t bad at all, really. It’s very sweet, and the pear and honey flavors are very prominent, even in the resteep. I think it will end up being one of those teas I pull out when I need something interesting.
I finally made it back to Missoula to replenish my tea stash, and I picked up a sample of this at Butterfly Herbs. Everything I’ve tried from this company I’ve loved.
It must be the carob that gives this the mocha flavor and aroma. There are lots of chocolatey overtones as well. I feel like I should be getting the coffee jitters, but there’s no caffeine (or the bitterness coffee has, ew)! The hazelnut is there, but very subtle.
If you like mocha, you’ll love this. Even better than mocha in my opinion!
Super bummed today. This cheers me up a bit with some almond milk.
