I tried another cup of this and I think the more of it I drink the more I like it. Still having it without milk or sugar. Yummy.

I love this tea. Another cup of this tonight for yet again another wonderful boost of energy. Earthy and strong with an after taste that reminds me of pu erh. This is going to be on my shopping list for all time :)

drank Buttercream by DAVIDsTEA

Firstly this smells sweet and creamy both before and after brewing and the mixture looks like large natural, pale leaves…similar looking to natural sage.

I had to check what buttercream was and the internet says that here in the UK some people make it into icing for their cakes. I think I remember reading in a book that Americans (and possibly Canadians) also have this as a drink similar to milk…that I cannot imagine as it’s super sweet.

Anyway the colour is a golden yellow and with the first sip I can taste subtle mango and slightly sweet chamomile. It seems that the more of this that you drink the sweeter it gets!
It’s strange…I’m more of a savoury person than sweet but this is an interesting experience. It does taste like liquid frosting and I bet if you were to add sugar to it then it would taste even more like it. However for me it would be too sweet.

In simple terms imagine a warm, sweet, creamy, lightly fruity yet with floral highlights cup of tea and you have a good idea of what this tastes like.

Overall: First cup is interesting, I may try adding milk next time to see how it turns out…so far it’s nice but going to take a savoury girl time to get used to.

drank Pumpkin Chai by DAVIDsTEA

This is my first time trying a pumpkin chai tea. It took me a few sips to get a liking for the drink as I am not a chai fan at all (I dislike the taste of clove) but once I got used to the taste I found it pleasant. It sort of does taste like pumpkin, well spicy pumpkin (like soup) and I can see it being an autumn drink as it has a warming effect.

The chai mixture is not overpowering which is why I didn’t mind this tea and I feel that my rating may be biased so I will update with each cup of this that I have. So far though it was a good start. :)

drank Mom's Apple Pie by DAVIDsTEA
1379 tasting notes

This smells like sour apple sweets which after a hard day at work is just what I needed. So breaking the ingredients down basically this is a green tea with apple pieces which I have tried a few varieties of (some of which I didn’t bother trying).

First sip and you notice the apple before the green tea, it’s sweet with a little sourness and a green natural after taste. It’s pleasant overall but does not have anything particularly special about it to stand out from others that I have tried. Would I buy this again? If I lived locally then sure but I don’t think it’s worth importing it especially.
As for the pie part I think it’s just to make it sound sweeter than it actually is.

drank Copabanana by DAVIDsTEA
1379 tasting notes

I finally managed to get my hands on a few Davids Tea 25g bags and my first cup was of this.

It smells gorgeous (banana and coconut mostly) and it reminds me of a fruit cocktail or luxury trail mix. Since this doesn’t contain any actual tea I don’t count is as one but instead it’s a fruit drink.

Alright so beyond smelling lovely both raw and once brewed the colour itself remains a very light yellow which is a nice novelty.

Taste wise it’s very yummy, each mouthful seems to have a different flavour changing from the banana to the coconut to cocoa (in a dark chocolate sort of taste). I gave a cup of this to my boss and he said it was like drinking a bounty bar. We tried it without added sugar because we frankly feel that it’s sweet enough and very natural tasting. Wonderful to clean the pallet and make a change.

Overall it’s nice but I’m not sure I could drink it all the time. Great to cure those naughty snacking urges.

drank White Ice Tea by Tea Moments

I drink this tea quite often and forgot to review it. This is a gentle fruit blend with refreshing white tea and as the title suggests makes yummy ice tea. It tastes similar to something by Lipton and it’s very nice for the price. I would say this is a more basic tasting ice tea and nothing too fancy.

You can taste a mixture of exotic fruit with a tinge of gentle bitternessfrom the white tea. Overall its a nice blend.

This is a very nice and fairly strong mint green tea with oodles of minty freshness and flavour. Great if you want something basic.

More in depth I could not taste the Darjeeling tea at all as the peppermint is very overpowering. Sure the tea is smooth and minty and you can get perhaps a hint of green tea all the same but there is no way I could pin point which kind of green tea is in this. After reading other members notes it would seem I am not the only one to have this problem.

Overall this is nice but very average.

Profile

Bio

I’m 34 years old from Leicester, England named Kayleigh.

I started off many years ago drinking herbal and fruit teas which over time peaked my interest in trying new types. Eventually I began to import and sample many different teas and cultures which I still do today. My life goal is to try as many teas and ways of having tea as possible.

Tea wise my cravings change constantly from pu erh one month to jasmine green to the next and so on.

I also enjoy watching Japanese Anime and horror films.

I am always up for tea swaps so if you see anything in my virtual cupboard then please contact me.

A short list to help swapping with me easier though honestly I am not fussy and am willing to try anything. Plus the notes below are usually, sometimes I love a tea that has an ingredient I tend to dislike and other times I hate a tea that I thought I would love.

Likes: Any fruit but especially melon and orange, vanilla, all tea types (black, green, white etc), nuts (any), flowers, ginger, chai.

Dislikes: Licorice, aniseed, clove, eucalyptus, lavender.

My rating system
I have my own way of rating teas that makes each one personal. I have different categories, I rate each tea depending on what it is made of. For example: I rate green teas in a different way to black teas or herbal teas. So black, white, green, Pu Erh, Rooibos, Oolong, blends and tisanes all have their own rating system. That way I can compare them with other teas of the same or similar type before for an adequate rating. And when I do give top marks which is very rare I am actually saying that I would love to drink that tea all day, every day if possible. It’s a tea that I would never turn down or not be in the mood for. So while I agree that no tea is 100% perfect (as nothing is) I am saying that it’s as close as it comes to it. After all, in my book the perfect teas (or close to perfect anyway) are ones that I could drink all the time. That is why you will find a high quality black or Oolong will not have as high a score as a cheap flavoured blend, they are simply not being compared in the same category.
