1379 Tasting Notes
Colour: Golden Brown.
Smell: Fresh lemongrass with an earthy under tone (probably from the Yerba Mate).
My first sip was lip puckering lemony which gives you a bitter, sweet and sour explosion all at once. For me it’s the sort of thing that would help to awaken my senses in the morning but I suppose it would be great for those who adore super strong lemon tea at any time of the day.
The Yerba Mate adds depth and keeps it together nicely, without it I would imagine this tea would be like sucking a fresh lemon. It’s so lemony it reminds me of lemon drop sweets :)
Preparation
A woman’s work is never done (or at least that’s true for me) so I chose one of my new tea’s to try. Raspberry and lime sounds like an interesting mixture and it may just give me a bit of a boost that I so desperately need.
Colour: Golden yellow.
Smell: Gentle citrus.
This tea tastes as interesting as it sounds, it’s a yummy green tea with a gentle berry flavour and a gentle citrus flavour. I thought this would have strong flavours but it’s actually very mild and fresh tasting. As a combination I would say that it worked well and would be perfect to relax with.
It reminds me of ‘Liptons Clear Green with Citrus’ but with this you also get a subtle fruity berry taste.
I didn’t get the boost I was looking for but I don’t care anymore, relaxation is my new middle name.
Preparation
A lot of non stop work today means I need a pick me up with a chai and a little love so that leads me to chose this ‘Love Me Truly’ chai.
Colour: Golden yellow.
Smell: Spicy cinnamon, zesty cardamom and feisty ginger.
Taste: After my first few sips I felt a warmth slip down my throat that tasted of ginger, clove and a hint of cinnamon. It’s a nice strength as it’s not overpoweringly strong and remains light yet with warming, spicy and zesty flavours coming together as one to make it flavoursome. I am not a huge fan of chai tea’s so I am thankful that this remains light but if you do like stronger chai’s then I would suggest leaving the tea bag in for 5-10 minutes instead of the recommended 3-5 minutes.
(NOTE) Once you have finished half a cup you can pick up the cardamom flavour and the infusion seems to get a little stronger.
Preparation
This was a nice blend of fruit and black with the mango taste sweetening up the black tea naturally. It was also fresh tasting and over all it was nice but not ground breaking. Suitable for everyday use rather than for special occasions.
Preparation
This smells heavenly as soon as you open the zip lock bag, a sort of vanilla and honey fragrance.
I think this would be a better tea if it was part of a mixture, such as strawberries and cream because it’s missing that wow factor by itself. It tastes similar to how it smells (vanilla) and is very light. The black tea is more in the background of the flavour but without being too earthy or bitter, the cream takes that away.
It also reminds me of Irish cream drinks (similar to Baileys) but of course in alcohol free tea form.
Preparation
Thank you to Tea Moments for a sample of this tea.
Colour: Hay yellow.
Smell: Just like green tea, a light and bitter sort of smell.
Nice and fresh good quality sencha green with a mellow aura. I can taste a bit of ginger at the back of my throat as it’s gently burning but in a nice way. A little different to what I would usually have so it’s nice to make a change.
For me I think it’s missing something but I cannot put my finger on what.
