687 Tasting Notes
My second darjeeling of today. First off, it pairs nicely with apple pie. There is a lovely scent of blueberries, and bergamot. The flavour is more on the earl grey side, but with nice blueberry taste as well. Having it with the pie was a bit like really good fruit salad.
Flavors: Bergamot, Blueberry
I have this sitting in my waiting-to-be-tried basket. I’ll have to open it later today. It sounds great!
So, on Sunday, I went to the Lupicia store. This tea was one of the samples they offered me. It smelled very much like herbal pumpkins, and the sweet potato. The flavour was like having a warm pumpkin pie. Would have preferred more sweet potato though.
Flavors: Pumpkin, Sweet Potatoes
One of my Steepster friends told me about this company. I wanted this tea because it sounded interesting. It smells different, like a darker green or dark oolong. The flavour is on the sweet side, with some smoky taste. There is mostly a smooth and mellow cup, and the smoky taste is subtle enough to be present and not overpowering.
Overall, it is very plesant and kinda makes me think of the forest of Mirkwood.
Preparation
A birthday chocolate from a couple years ago. Having an orange colour hot cocoa is really pretty cool. I’d forgotten the flavour was not orange as well. However, it is a nice and creamy white chocolate. The sachet is very cute, and Autumn appropriate.
Flavors: Creamy, White Chocolate
My birthday and lunar eclipse tea. I brewed this and went outside to watch end of the total lunar eclipse. The smells sweet and herbal. There is some vanilla cake frosting taste. Mainly this tea is like herbal cake frosting. Interesting, and goes with my lunar event.
Flavors: Cake, Frosting, Herbs, Vanilla
Oh, I get to be first! My evening cup while I watch Sleepy Hollow (the series). The scent is nicely creamy and floral. There is a kinda strong rose flavour, and the vanilla gets a little lost. As it cools, there is more creamy vanilla taste.
It’s interesting, and I want rose ice cream now.
Flavors: Creamy, Floral, Rose, Vanilla
When I went to make this, my first thought was that it smells like a Yunnan tea. There is certainly a baked bread scent, along with the citrus. The flavour is like if I was fresh baked wheat bread with orange zest. Very good, wish I had more.
Flavors: Bergamot, Bread, Citrus, Orange
