687 Tasting Notes
I wanted to try this because it sounded so fruity, and there was no hibiscus. It smells like these fruit snacks I liked as a kid. They came in either cherry or kiwi, and with rolled coconut. The flavour is on the apple side. Reminds me of fruit punch, which I’m having warm for some reason. There isn’t much kiwi flavour though.
Praise be to the Giver of Fruits!
Flavors: Apple, Cherry, Coconut, Fruit Punch
I like raspberries, but not so much raspberry flavoured things. Mainly because they’re blue for some reason. This tea is thankfully not blue, and even has the actual fruit. Huzzah! The tea itself smells and tastes like a raspberry sorbet. While I still lean towards this fruit paired with chocolate in tea (and in general), I like the creamy flavours.
Flavors: Berry, Cream, Raspberry
Now catching up on the show Forever (kinda makes me think of Castle/ Sherlock Holmes/ Highlander. The male lead makes it even more watchable.) I wanted to try this because it reminds me so much of a blend at the ‘local’ shop. This smells like pumpkin and melons. While I’m used to the certain spice blend, this one tastes like a pumpkin shake. It’s nicely creamy. Overall, a good evening cup.
Flavors: Creamy, Pumpkin
So, I am a Tea Pirate, and I sail on the Jolly Teapot. Once again, I have a rum flavoured tea instead of my preferred beverage. This one is rather pleasant. It has a creamy, butterscotch type flavour, along with the rum. Not the coconut of my last rum tea. In fact, this kinda reminds me of the rum raisin ice cream, sans raisins. And warm. If that makes sense. Thanks to my boatswain for sending this for me to try.
Flavors: Butterscotch, Creamy, Rum
This is one of the teas my boatswain, Starfevre sent for me to try. I think teas with chocolate notes have spoiled me in regards to actually chocolate teas. The smells like a chocolate bar, but that doesn’t really come across in the flavour. It is sweet, but doesn’t really have the cocoa I was expecting.
A suggestion for a tea to go with my dinner of popcorn shrimp. It worked. I liked the roasty/ nutty flavour. The scent was a bit on the nutty side too, and was a little stronger in the tea itself rather than just the leaves. Overall, I still very much like this variety.
Selected by the ladies of the Tea Chat Room. I made a bit of a storing fail, it got left on a grape scented candle by accident. So now it smells a bit like grapes. It also has a scent of plums and malty chocolate. The flavour is plum hot cocoa. Which is pretty good.
Make sure you don’t leave samples with your candles, kids. At least it was a complimentary fruit and not ocean breeze or something.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Malt, Plum
Preparation
Don’t remember where I got this, but it was time to try it. This really does smell like cake. The flavour is more caramel, and maybe pecan. I know this is a cake tea, but it is really sweet. Overall, I’m glad I picked up the single serve bag, but don’t need a canister.
Flavors: Caramel, Hazelnut, Pecan, Vanilla
I’m having this while watching the newest episode of Once Upon a Time. It smells pretty fruity. The flavour is similar, but more mild. Green tea works better with the fruit flavours. Still tastes like Summer, but it’s nice than the black tea version.
Flavors: Fruity, Mango
Yum! Did you get to try Kumquat?
It was not a sample there, I asked.
