625 Tasting Notes

My very first roasted oolong. I brewed this in what I call the "western electric kettle, single mug method’. It smells earthy, and a little smoky. The dry leaves have a more earthy scent. Iget a little chocolate in the flavour, but that’s more like dark chocolate or roast cacao beans. There is some of the roasty oolong flavour, but it’s more subtle.

Thanks to Chinese Tea Shop for letting me try this.

This is a nice, light green tea. The flavour is sweet, floral, and a little tangy.

This another type of black tea I haven’t tried yet. It smells nice, like honey wheat bread. That is also what I get in the flavour. The sweetness is nice and subtle. I think this should really be a breakfast tea.

I’ve not had this tea on its own before.

It smells like dark caramel, and maybe plum. The flavour is more malty chocolate though. This would good for the morning instead of coffee.

My Teavivre sampler came in the post today, so I had to try this first.

It smells fantastic… like sweet potatoes and honey wheat bread. The flavour is smooth and a bit malty. I do get some yam as well.

Thanks to Angel for picking this one for me to try.

Since I had more coffee than tea today, so I had this.

It’s called extra green… and it really is. The colour is green, the scent is green, it even tastes green. There is an interesting green flavour. I like both sencha and matcha, but I’m not sure how well it goes together.

Today I brewed this with the Strawberry Oolong. It smells sweet, and creamy, with hints of berry. It tastes a little like those strawberry milk candies and oolong. I’d say that turned out pretty well. Hybrid brew- 94

I’m still trying to decide if I prefer ceylon or assam black tea. This one has a nice sweet and earthy scent. It tastes like a smooth, black that goes well with my brunch. Would be good with some added spices. Will try it again with my cinnamon.

Last of my samples from Teavivre. So I saved this one. Had a cup with lunch and an episode of Ounce Upon a Time. (Which doesn’t have enough genies.)

Anyway… this has a great scent. I so enjoy the smell of roses. There is a really good floral black tea flavour as well. Would be a good tea for a tea event.

I made this for my mom yesterday (to go with the Mother’s Day bread), and she really liked it.

This came in the post today, which was totally when I was excepting it. Yay! It smells like many an orange spice tea I’ve had before. There is a nice scent of orange (made stronger ’cause I just had an orange), cinnamon, and a little cloves. Mmm… spice. The flavour is a bit like an orange chai. I like this one a lot. Thanks Just Organic Teas.
