This is my favourite of the teas I tried at the Lupicia store today. There is a nice floral and berry scent. That is also what I get in the flavour, with some notes of creamy vanilla. While I really liked this tea, I feel it would be more suited for the Spring months.

Flavors: Berry, Creamy, Rose, Vanilla

That’s definitely a good one! Glad you got to make it to the store! :)

Cheri

I’m glad you finally made it to the store! I hope you had a wonderful time.

Lariel of Lórien

It was so fun. Hope to go again before the move.

I was able to visit a store again! :) The clerk was very nice. She made me a sample of this tea. This is French for ‘Fruit Tea’, which is a really good name. This is certainly a fruity too. Scent- I get mostly lychee, and some strawberry. Flavour- It is sweet, with strong notes of lychee, the strawberry and peach flavours are more subtle.

Flavors: Fruity, Lychee, Peach, Strawberry, Sweet

Definitely not French. I looked it up, turns out it’s Spanish.

Lariel of Lórien

It looks so French though.

Cameron B.

French would be “Thé aux Fruits” or “Thé de Fruits” or something similar. I’m not fluent. :P

Lariel of Lórien

Ah.Knowing bits of both languages can be confusing sometimes.

TeaBrat

The staff at Lupicia is usually friendly and not at all obnoxious!

Lariel of Lórien

I prefer the SF store, since it’s a little bigger.

I, for one, welcome our new Melon Overlords.

The dry uh, leaves smell like a nice, ripe honeydew melon. And brewed, it reminds me of these Japanese gummy candies I really like. There is a sweet, fruity flavour. Lupicia, you’ve convinced me I enjoy melon flavour teas. Which is a accomplishment since I was skeptical. It is also my new fave green rooibos. Thanks to Ost for this.

Flavors: Honey Dew, Honeydew, Melon, Sweet

Tried this iced today, but I like it better hot. Which was surprising.

I’ve not had anything lotus before, and this was part of mini tuocha sampler.

It certainly smells floral. The flavour reminds me a bit of an oolong, it’s even a little creamy. This also part of my exploring shengs. (Better in shorter steep.)

Flavors: Creamy, Floral, Green

Cookies sent me this mini tuocha, but I’m not sure where it hails from.

Rose Ripe Pu’erh-

Scent- Earth, Floral
Flavour- Rose, Sweet

I brewed for about 30 seconds after a couple rinses. The rose flavour comes out nicely, it’s sweet and on the mild side. There is some Earthiness still, but it is mostly floral.

Thanks to Cookies for letting me try this.

I tried make this shorter with my Western mug. Rinse, and brewed for about 45 seconds. My stove clock is digital. It has an interesting scent. It’s both earthy and ricey. Like if I had mushroom and rice soup. That comes out in the flavour too.

It’s good in superior west coast veggie soup.

This smells so good. There’s the caramel, apple, and the floral from the oolong. It makes for a nice, sweet tea to drink while watching Doctor Who

Thanks, Stephanie.

I like this tea name. My cinnabar dragon (that I picked up in SF Chinatown around that New Year) is sitting next to my Western tea mug.

Tried a short step with Western equipment. Every time I make something like it makes me want a gaiwan even more. (The one I like even has dragons.)

Scent (brewed)- dried fruit, mushrooms
Flavour- baked bread, fruit, sweet

For my attempt at a 30 second step, I think it was more like a minute. Still turned out well. Shorter seems to be better for my future shou brewing.

Flavors: Baked Bread, Dried Fruit, Mushrooms

Oh! Yay, you got your dragon yea pet :-)

TheTeaFairy

(I meant tea pet)

Lariel of Lórien

Hehe… I have a ‘yea’ pet.

Cheri

I need to pick out a tea pet.

Terri HarpLady

I don’t have any tea pets, unless you want to count my various yixing pots, they are kind of like pets to me :)

Lariel of Lórien

Tea dragons can be found in Chinatown. Do you name the yixing pots? (I guess they can be small and cute.)

So I’m watching a Doctor Who marathon, waiting for the new series/ season to start. In the chat, oolong was suggested to be my tea to try.

This smells nice and fruity. The flavour is mild on the lychee side, but I like the oolong base. It’s a good blend of floral and fruity.

Flavors: Lychee

I’m enjoying the Doctor Who marathon right now. Got a nice cup of the 10th Doctor here with me. New Who tonight!!!

Early this week I went to the local tea room while I was waiting for the used book store to look through books I was wanting to sell (for more tea, of course.)

So I went to this place called Hidden Peak Tea Room. I really like the atmosphere there. Nice teaware, art, and some pretty background music. They were out of the Keemun tea I wanted to try, so I got a Yunnan Gold instead.

Hidden Peak Tea- Yunnan Gold

scent- malty, sweet, hints of citrus
flavour- malt, honey, smooth (there were some mild notes of yams as it cooled)

It was a nice place to visit, and I got some gaiwan brewing practice.

Flavors: Honey, Malt, Sweet, Yams
