340 Tasting Notes
I saw figs in this, I swear. Hidden in so much other fruit. Smells nice though, in a “I’d totally want this as a scented lotion or lip balm” way. It tastes sweet and fruity. Not much in the way of fig flavour (but maybe that didn’t make into my steeper), but at least the hibiscus didn’t decide to declare itself supreme lord of my tea mug.
Flavors: Apple, Fruity, Rose
I am on a quest to try as many Chinese black teas as possible. This smells really, I like the honey scent. There is a sweet, malty flavour. (It went well with my doriyaki.)
Glad I finally got to try a Golden Needle tea. Thanks, Tao Tea Leaf.
I had so much green tea yesterday, it was time to try something different. This one smells really nice, like toasted coconut. It has a light, sweet flavour. The coconut is less prominent on the second steep, but it’s still nice and creamy.
Thanks for the bonus sample, Tao Tea Leaf.
I wanted to try this for uh, tasting reasons. It smells like toffee and licorice. And I’m sure why paprika goes in a tisane, but that is a scent I get too. There is some chocolate in the flavour, but I mostly get salt, spice, and licorice root.
This is certainly an interesting assortment of flavours.
Flavors: Licorice, Salt, Spicy
Is this tea trying to be a burnt French dessert? If so, I’m sure why it has so much tropical fruit. It smells nice though, like cinnamon and almonds. I taste more rooibos than oolong.
This really more of a mildly spiced nut herbal blend. Which is fine, just not what I was expecting. Could use more nut, and a little less fruit.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Fruity, Nuts, Rooibos
I really like the scent of this. The lemon and fig makes me think of scones. Not sure if I’ve ever had a scone like that, but there should be one (even if I make it myself). Lemon comes out more in the flavour, but it is a cup of fruity goodness.
Thanks for the sample, boychik
Flavors: Fig, Lemon
I’m having this totally out of season, but I didn’t write a review in winter. It smells like wassail, like a lot. Must be the blend of spices. There is hibiscus in this, so it turns a nice red colour. The flavour is a mix of cranberry, orange, and spices. Pretty much, it tastes just like it smells, only hibiscus… which is mild, but unneeded.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves, Cranberry, Malt, Orange, Spices
I have now reached 300 tasting notes. Exciting, isn’t it? Anyway, this tea has a stronger rose scent brewed. The flavour is bit milder compared to other rose teas I’ve had. It still has that nice floral flavour to it.
Since it’s a ‘Summer’ tea, maybe I should have a cold brew.
