583 Tasting Notes

Since I don’t live near certain stores anymore, I got this from my new local shop as a Summer tea. Firstly, it smells awesome. A nice blend of citrus and strawberry. The flavour is more lemon with hints of berry, but not as strong.

Good, but will have to try it iced.

Flavors: Berry, Citrus, Lemon, Strawberry

Makes great iced tea, I get much more strawberry flavour.

I tried making it iced with Frank’s quick pourover method and it was great!

I make it for one 8 oz service. Brew hot, then add ice and sweeten.

My latest sample from visiting the local shop. This tea smells so good. Really like the scent of cardamon. There is a nice spice flavour, it’s almost like a masala chai. It also has a little bit of a dark malty taste. (Would probably be better for snow season.)

Flavors: Cardamon, Malt

St. Coombs from Figments Tea Shoppe- I got this one from the local shop because it was on sale. There is a nice malt scent. The flavour is dark, with a little malt and sweetness. Might have brewed it a little too long though. It’s a good rainy day tea.

Ah, apricots. They go with so many things. Today, it was French toast. While reading part two of the quest to destroy the Dark Lord’s evil jewelry. This tea smells really good. I get a scent of cocoa, with hints of honey. The flavour is more honey, and generally mildly sweet.

(Have two cups with adventure stories.)

Flavors: Cocoa, Honey

When you get many apricots, make crisp. Then eat it while reading about a quest to destroy the Dark Lord’s evil jewelry. This tea smells so nice and sweet. I get mostly a scent of walnuts. The flavour is on the sweet, nut side as well.

Pairs well with both the crisp and my adventure story.

Firstly, this tea sounds like it’s trying to be fancy. It smells nicely like cocoa. The flavour is slightly malty, with mostly baked bread. When it cools, the bread comes out stronger.

Flavors: Baked Bread, Cocoa, Malt

Happy Fourth of July! Today I went to a local art festival. Most fun, until the rain happened. When I got home, I decided to have some tea. But that was put off until the evening. The brew smells strongly like spices, I get mostly clove and ginger. There is a nice spice flavour, will have to try it with vanilla. Not the right season, but still good.

Instead of having a certain alien invasion movie or a historical drama, I decided to watch my favourite TV shows. The US Air Force is in it, so that counts.

Flavors: Cloves, Ginger, Natural Pumpkin Spice Flavor

Since I’m getting summer rain, figured it was time to have hot tea. It smells nicely like lavender, and a little like a beverage I had last time I was attended a Faire. I like earl grey, but the lavender is a bit on the strong side. Otherwise, I get a mild, creamy bergamot flavour. Might decided to use this for baked goods at some point.

Flavors: Bergamot, Creamy, Lavender, Vanilla

Dry, this tea kinda smells like root beer barrels. There is a kinda sweet, mild caramel scent when brewed. The flavour is more lightly sweet, with biscuit and caramel notes. As it cools a little, I get hints of fruit. Actually, pretty good.

Flavors: Baked Bread, Caramel, Dried Fruit

One of my samples when I went by the store. I always like going by it when I visit Old Town. It smells nicely like pomegranate. There is a fruity flavour, but the vanilla doesn’t come out that well. Will have to try it iced.

Flavors: Fruity

It does make better iced tea. The creamy vanilla/ pomegranate flavours come out better. Some fruit teas are just improved cold.
