Is this tea trying to be a burnt French dessert? If so, I’m sure why it has so much tropical fruit. It smells nice though, like cinnamon and almonds. I taste more rooibos than oolong.
This really more of a mildly spiced nut herbal blend. Which is fine, just not what I was expecting. Could use more nut, and a little less fruit.

My inner pirate wanted this tea. I don’t have any real rum. It still smells nicely like coconut. The flavour is nice and creamy… coconut rum cakes perhaps.

Will have to try this cold over the summer.

I really like the scent of this. The lemon and fig makes me think of scones. Not sure if I’ve ever had a scone like that, but there should be one (even if I make it myself). Lemon comes out more in the flavour, but it is a cup of fruity goodness.

Thanks for the sample, boychik

I haven’t had this a while. At first, there is a stronger scent of mint. The chocolate comes out nicely in the flavour, but the mint tends to linger a little. It is smooth, and tastes almost like a chocolate bar. Maybe I should try this cold soon.

I’m having this totally out of season, but I didn’t write a review in winter. It smells like wassail, like a lot. Must be the blend of spices. There is hibiscus in this, so it turns a nice red colour. The flavour is a mix of cranberry, orange, and spices. Pretty much, it tastes just like it smells, only hibiscus… which is mild, but unneeded.

I have now reached 300 tasting notes. Exciting, isn’t it? Anyway, this tea has a stronger rose scent brewed. The flavour is bit milder compared to other rose teas I’ve had. It still has that nice floral flavour to it.

Since it’s a ‘Summer’ tea, maybe I should have a cold brew.

One the first things I thought of this tea when I opened it was that it smelled like mushrooms. That scent comes across more in the brew. The flavour reminds me a bit of mushroom soup. Certainly very earthy.

i love mushroom soup. i dont think you liked the tea. Right? Did you rinse it first?

Lariel

I did rinse first, but I wasn’t that flavour to be so prominent. Not that I mind mushrooms. It’s not that I didn’t like it, more it wasn’t what I wanted at the moment. Might end up using it as a rice flavouring.

boychik

that never occur to me. Good idea!

Lariel

It’s one of the most savory pu-erhs I’ve had. Nothing wrong with that really, but I’d like it more if it were soup.

This is the latest in my quest to try as many Chinese black teas as possible. It has a lovely scent of honey and maybe bread as well. The flavour is sweet with hints of orange, along with a bit of wheat toast. Overall, I’ve found this to be a good morning tea.

I was looking forward to this sample. It smells awesome! Like sweet potato crisps and honey. The honey comes out a bit more in the flavour, and I get a little roast yam too.
Any tea that can taste like my fave tuber is a hit for me.

This is the last of my new Teavivre samples. It smells so good… like malty cocoa. The flavour tends toward grape. Reminds me a little of wine somehow. I might need a few more cups… for uh, science. And tasting purposes.
