drank Detox by DAVIDsTEA

This tea is letting me think those Mallomars were okay to indulge on. A detox is much needed, and I think this will do. Not very strong, which isn’t surprising for DAVIDsTEA, but the ginger is definitely there, mmmm

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA

I was starting to give up on DAVIDsTEA because of their weak flavors (is it just me, or do their teas smell 10x better than they taste?). But, I was surprised to find myself enjoying this so much. Even more surprising, it was a great second steep! Cross your fingers to get this one as a free sample..

I have a newfound love for jasmine teas. This one from DAVIDsTEA particularly caught my attention because of their process, so I decided to order a 50g bag. I was taken back (and quite frankly a little nervous) to find that it smelled of the ocean upon opening. And not good ocean, but fishy ocean? Anyone else?

The first cup was good. I enjoyed it. Not as much as other jasmine teas. But I enjoyed it. Quite bitter at the end, I probably over-steeped. Green teas I find to be just as good the second steep, sometimes even better, but this one did nothing for me the second round. Very very bland.

Wouldn’t order this again. Too overpriced for what it is. I surprisingly liked Teavana’s Jasmine Oolong way better and I’m really not a fan of Teavana, so that says a lot. I guess I am just trying to live up to my first jasmine experience of Numi’s Green Jasmine sigh A tough one to live up to….good luck to the next brand.

drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA

I just ordered from DAVIDsTEA for the first time. I’m loving their three-free-samples-with-every-order business. Toasted Walnut caught my eye, but I decided against ordering it because of the artificial flavouring and sugar. I actually found this to be the case with a lot of their blends. They sound awesome, but once you get past the 4th or 5th ingredient, you “Oh,” to find these unattractive additives.

Any-who, Toasted Walnut was one of my three free samples this week, and I did enjoy it. The smell was a little overwhelming, just my nose knew it was artificial. I expected it to taste just as strong as it smelled; maybe it was weak office water, but it wasn’t a bad tea overall. Not something I would drink often, or pay for, but a nice savory blend for an empty stomach at the cubicle farm.
