This is bagged in a muslin-like bag that is similar to the type of bagged teas you might get from Kusmi. My only complaint thus far with the bag is that I think it would be better if it were a little larger… although since it is a cotton fabric, it allowed for proper expansion because it stretched a bit. I guess there is just a part of me that always seems to want to have as much room as possible for the tea leaves to do their thing.

Anyway, it smelled lovely before brewing – pleasant and spicy. The brewed tea smells very much the same, although it is a mellower fragrance.

This is really nice. A bit on the mellow side for a chai – not overly spicy, which typically, I do tend to favor, but it is nice to taste a mild chai from time to time. This is remarkably well-balanced, I must say. It allows for the true flavors of the spices – not just the warm or the heat of the spices, but also the more subtle tones of the spices, to be explored.
It’s a little spiced, a little earthy, warm and inviting. I like it a lot.

I enjoyed this straight, (not a latte) but I think it would make a really nice latte too. And the cotton muslin bag would make it VERY easy to go stovetop with this chai. Just cut off the tags and pop one or two of the muslin bags into the simmering milk. Less mess! And YUM chai latte! Might have to try that sometime.

My favorite teas are Yellow Teas with most Oolong teas at a close second. As far as “flavored” teas go, I love Earl Grey, Chocolate and Jasmine teas.

I also am intrigued by flavored teas with an unusual or unique flavor combination.

I don’t do a whole lot of swaps anymore, however, I do occasionally sell sampler boxes here: http://liberteas.teatra.de/ I don’t always have sampler boxes available as it depends upon how much time I have as well as packaging supplies. I usually post at least one or two sampler boxes per month, though, so if you’re interested, keep an eye out or PM me and I’ll let you know when I have some posted.

Most of the teas that I record in my notes here are going to have a fairly high rating from me. This is not because I am not discerning, but because I do not usually waste my time on drinking tea I do not care for, nor will I waste my time on writing about it.
