Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast from 52teas

Good Morning Steepsterites! (Well, I just woke up so, it’s sort of like morning for me. What can I say? I’m a night owl… which… is kind of good in a way… most of the time I sleep through the morning which happens to be my least favorite part of the day.)

Well, in keeping with my “holding off to try Frank’s new blends until they’re at least 3 weeks old” – I am now trying this one for the first time. Yes, yes, I know, it’s been around longer than 3 weeks. But… I have so many teas that need to be tried and reviewed so I can’t keep on a set schedule (Plus… if I do set myself a schedule, I will inevitably do something that goes against the schedule. There is a “little Anne” in my head (think “little barney” from How I Met Your Mother) that is quite a rebel and will do things to upset my well-intentioned plans just to keep me in line)

Anyways… This tea smells incredible. As it sits in my mug here before me, whilst I type, my taste buds are screaming at me to taste it.

Yum! This tea definitely delivers what it promises. The flavors are all there. Pumpkin, pancake, butter and maple syrup… and even the black tea. I do agree with the other tasting notes – this tea needs a short steep time because the black tea can come across as bitter if steeped too long. I steeped for just 2 1/2 minutes, and while this isn’t bitter, I can taste where it almost can be bitter … and it certainly would have been if I went for 3 minutes. I think 2 minutes next time should be about perfect.

This is really good. I hope that Frank read my previous comment in the forums about making a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie tea, because we’re talking one of my favorite cookies there. My favorite cookie is actually the peanut butter blossom cookies (the kind with the chocolate kiss in the center), but, I am still not ready to try a peanut butter tea, so I will be quite content with a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie tea instead.

Sorry for the rambling…

I hope that there will be a re-blend of this! Today’s re-blends of cinnamon roll and pancake breakfast are giving me hope! : )

In addition to my passion for tea, I am also a mixed media/altered arts artist. You can see some of my art here: http://eccentricpastiche.blogspot.com

My favorite teas are Yellow Teas with most Oolong teas at a close second. As far as “flavored” teas go, I love Earl Grey, Chocolate and Jasmine teas.

I also am intrigued by flavored teas with an unusual or unique flavor combination.

I don’t do a whole lot of swaps anymore, however, I do occasionally sell sampler boxes here: http://liberteas.teatra.de/ I don’t always have sampler boxes available as it depends upon how much time I have as well as packaging supplies. I usually post at least one or two sampler boxes per month, though, so if you’re interested, keep an eye out or PM me and I’ll let you know when I have some posted.

Most of the teas that I record in my notes here are going to have a fairly high rating from me. This is not because I am not discerning, but because I do not usually waste my time on drinking tea I do not care for, nor will I waste my time on writing about it.
