Not really in a fancy tea mood today, so no-frills it is. I love this tea, it is a staple in my tea cabinet to fall back on when I can’t decide what tea to drink or don’t feel like having anything too extreme. It’s light and surprisingly wonderful.

Fridays, I love and hate them at the same time, so I usually treat myself to starting my day with a new tea, so I can review it and lighten the day up a bit.

The raw tea is unlike any green tea i’ve ever seen. It’s visually pleasing to look at, and I brewed it in a class teapot to get the full effect. Not only is this tea visually cool, but when I sip it, my mouth waters a little after I swallow, making me want more. When I breathe in after i’ve sipped, there is a refreshing/cooling, almost menthol-like feel in my mouth, which is great. I feel like this was a stronger tasting green tea, and not light, but I enjoy that about it. I’m going to steep this again right now!

Mmm! What wonderful tea. I really enjoyed the complexity of the honey tones, the tobacco notes as well as some forest flavors. A great tea!

When I opened this sample of tea I had never seen raw leaves that look so beautiful. They look soft, are golden and are curly.The appearance is very aesthetically pleasing and made me want to try the tea immediately. I have never tried a Yunnan Golden Curls tea before,and I am sad that this was my first because it was a great tea. Onto the tea, despite the light color of the raw leaves, the liquor was significantly darker than expected. Sipping on it, I was delighted by a savory flavor of something that reminds me of sweet potatoes or yams. I also get some creaminess in the tea, which made for a very smooth cup. Yunnan teas are known for their unique peppery flavor profiles and this tea was not lacking that at all. On the back end of the taste was peppery, as if you had added some pepper into the tea, which is a very interesting flavor and probably my favorite aspect of it! All in all, what a great tea, i’m so happy to have tried it!

First off, I love the way the hand rolled pearls look- they are dainty,delicate and just beautiful. The strong smell of Jasmine is a bit overpowering. Although Jasmine is a natural strong scent, that some people don’t enjoy, I do enjoy it- it’s sweet smelling and floral at the same time- which is appealing. The taste of this tea is not as strong as the smell by any means, the liquor is very delicate and wonderful all around. It’s light, it’s floral, it’s just great. I really think this tea would be wonderful to drink on a summer or spring day when it is not warm or cold, but just in between. All around, I think this tea is great and I respect Adagio offering higher quality teas in their new Maestro Collection.

This tea was fantastic and even more than I had hoped it to be. Oolongs are some of my favorite teas, and this one was a bit of a surprise. The liquor is a very pale color, which could be a tip off for a light tea, but the flavors are exquisite. On my first sip, I just enjoyed the complexity of the flavors unfurl on my palette. Upon my next few sips, I started to taste some subtle floral qualities that were especially pleasing. Paired along with these floral notes is a sweet honey taste as well as some tropical fruits, I can’t define the tropical fruit, but it really works for this tea and all the flavors pair well together. I steeped this tea 4 times and even on the 4th steep,I was still impressed by the amount of flavor left in the leaves. Next time, I am going to try and steep it 5 or 6 times to see when the flavors dissipate.

Needless to say, this is one tea that I will definitely be picking up when Adagio debut’s their new Maestro Collection!

LeafSpa Teas’ Yunnan Gold is a very smooth, light tea. Considering it is from the Yunnan Provence, this tea is on the lighter side of teas coming out of the region. The lightness is reminiscent of a breakfast black tea. The liquor color is a beautiful copper color, but the flavor is the best part of the tea. The taste includes a tobacco flavor, but is also earthy and peppery in the aftertaste.. There is a lot of body for this tea and just a hint of that darkness that is commonly found in Yunnan teas. The peppery aspect of the tea is found in the aftertaste of the tea and has honey hints that pairs nicely with the slight pepperiness. This pepper flavor is a subtle aspect of the tea versus a dominant flavor in the liquor, which is very pleasing.

Wow, I was hesitant to try this tea but i’m glad I did! It isn’t too smoky, as there is a sweetness that rounds the smoky flavor out. I’m really diggin’ this one, a lot. As usual, i’m not surprised by the quality of Damn Fine Tea, they are awesome!

This was a very interesting tea. I really enjoyed it. I grew up eating puffed rice cereal for breakfast, so this tea,steeped, really reminded of a mixture of puffed rice,maybe some seaweed-y ocean smell (that could be because I was at the beach all weekend?) and some caramel on the nose. The tea itself is a rather light infusion, but has a robust flavor of the popped corn and rice that could have overrode the delicate green tea flavor, but didn’t. I like the two paired together, and as suggested by what TeaCast.net did by adding some matcha to it, i’m curious how that tastes, so I am off to try some added matcha! :) All in all, I really like this, and would reconsider buying it in a bigger container, as i only purchased a sample of the tea.

Meh. this tea was not what i was expecting. i got a strong ‘orange/butterscotch’ smell n the nose, instead of vanilla. Also, the bergamot seemed to make this tea bitter. On the back of my tongue, I tasted a strong bitter aspect after taking a sip. I didn’t oversteep the tea, so it must be the bergamot. Bergamot is a very strong flavor in most earl greys, which is why I am not a huge fan of them. I think this tea could be perfected by adding more of a ratio of vanilla/cream in the tea. I did not taste much vanilla or cream in my tea, which is what I was expecting.
