Chocolate Monkey from Art of Tea
100

I got my belated birthday present in the mail today: a Breville One-Touch Tea Maker. Good Mail Day!!!!

What to brew in it first? Oh, the decisions!! I finally settled on this rooibos blend. It’s one of the first that I purchased from Cuppa, my local tea haunt.

There’s a few loose leaves in the brew since some bits were smaller than the holes in the brew basket. But the taste!! This is definitely the best I’ve had this tea. Brewed for my usual 10 minutes…wow!!

It tastes like a chocolate-covered banana, or like chocolate chip banana bread. It’s sweet without being sickly-so. Banana, real banana, not a candy banana, flavor is the first note, followed quickly by the chocolate, and then with a mild rooibos finish. If you’ve not had this tea and like bananas, you really need to get some!

And the One-Touch is awesome. Already plotting what tea I’m going to put in it to have ready for me at 5 am.

Congrats on the Breville. I just got one last week and I am in LOVE with it. Have you tried Art of Tea’s Cinnamon Fig? It is my fave of their blends that I’ve tried.

I love this thing. Already have it set up for the am.

Laura, I have tried Cinnamon Fig. I love it. Lisa (the owner of Cuppa) makes a “cinnabun latte” out of it with milk and caramel syrup. I’m not a latte fan, but it’s really good!

Meghann, thanks! It’s amazing. Mom was going to get me a second Hot Shot (for travelling), but I asked for this instead (and am still shocked that I got it). It’s amazing. Can’t wait to roll out of bed to freshly-brewed tea!

Bio

My love of tea started in 2001, whilst in an internship in London, England. I shared an office with a lovely man who would make me a cup of tea every morning without asking me if I even wanted it. I drink my tea neat now, because I’ve yet to find the sugar/milk combination that lives up to Pablo’s.

I drink any and all kinds of tea, and love trying new brands/varieties/flavors.
